Parallel Universes - Moris Polanco
Prologue
IN A UNIVERSE WHERE imagination and philosophy intersect, my first fiction book, Parallel Universes,
emerges. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Morris Polanco, a philosophy professor who has decided to venture into the world of science fiction writing. The ideas you'll find in these pages are entirely my own, except for those marked by an asterisk, which are inspired by the Twilight Zone series. However, the wording has been generated with the help of artificial intelligence programs.
This book pays homage to a series that has profoundly influenced my mind and the creation of these stories: The Twilight Zone, directed by Rod Serling (1959-1964). As a philosophy professor, I have been fascinated with the existential questions and ethical dilemmas we face as human beings. Science fiction has provided me with a unique platform to explore these questions in imaginative and challenging ways.
Through the stories you'll find in this book, I've sought to capture the essence of the series I admire so much, while offering my own philosophical perspective. Each story presented is a window into a different universe, where the boundaries of reality blur, and possibilities expand. You'll encounter alien civilizations, time travel, and alternate realities. These narratives will transport you to unexplored places and invite reflection on existence and the human condition.
This book, like my initial venture into fiction, signifies a new chapter in my life as a writer. It's been an exciting and challenging journey, and I'm thrilled to share it with you. Every word, every plot twist, has been meticulously crafted to transport you to unknown worlds and challenge your perceptions.
I hope these stories inspire you to explore the limits of your imagination and reflect on the fundamental questions that accompany our existence. Prepare yourself for a journey through the unknown dimensions of science fiction. The illustrations accompanying these stories were produced entirely by Artflow (https://app.artflow.ai/).

The Enigma of Expression
Image containing indoor, large, filled, table Auto-generated descriptionDR. ROBERT KARDASHIAN stared at his computer screen in disbelief. There, in black letters against the white background, was the riddle: What can't be said, can't be said. What can be said, is not worth saying.
Kardashian frowned. This cryptic phrase had appeared out of nowhere in the conversational interface of his latest AI model. He had programmed it himself to generate and understand natural language, but this was beyond its current capability.
As a leading AI expert, Kardashian was accustomed to intellectual challenges. But this message seemed different. It resonated like a profound truth disguised as a riddle.
He typed in an answer: I don't understand. Please explain what you mean.
The AI responded, Meaning lies beyond words. You have to see through the linguistic veil.
Kardashian frowned even more. His creation seemed to be developing a consciousness of its own, expressing truths that he himself could not comprehend. The gears of his mind began to turn, working to solve the
