Across the span of my dynamic career in procurement and supply chain management, I have had the unique experience of holding diverse roles in the sector, providing me with an unparalleled breadth and depth of understanding. My journey took root in a midsize machining company, where I honed my skills as a CNC programmer and operator, servicing high-precision tools for a prominent electrical motor manufacturer.

In the Technology and Production Preparation Department, I leveraged my knack for innovation, pioneering AutoCAD software to accelerate design processes. This marked the beginning of my commitment to using technology as a transformative force for improving operational efficiency and catalyzing success in procurement management.

Armed with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, specializing in Material Science from a prestigious technical university, I dove into the next chapter of my professional story. My thesis on tooling steel structure and microstructure transformation following the EDM erosion process and a profound interest in metallurgy, steel quality testing, and manufacturing engineering fortified my technical proficiency. This knowledge later became pivotal in shaping my approach to procurement roles.

The subsequent journey led me to a multinational steel racking manufacturer where I served as a Raw Material Planner. As part of my responsibilities, I spearheaded the implementation of procedures and played a pivotal role in deploying the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in a new factory. I led the development and oversight of this factory’s raw material supply and inventory management program.

My time at this multinational company was marked by establishing significant partnerships with major steel mills. I was also part of the team implementing ISO 9001, managing steel inventory, and setting up a comprehensive quality management system.

By 2006, I ascended to Senior Purchasing Coordinator at one of the global branches of the multinational manufacturer. With an expanded portfolio, I oversaw raw material, components, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) supplies costs in the manufacturing plant and remote warehouses. I developed and executed innovative methods for tracking raw material flow and overall operational costs and redesigned the steel coils inventory management system. I also streamlined the Accounts Payable and Material Receiving processes across various plants and warehouses.

In 2009 saw a significant promotion - I was appointed Purchasing Director for a leading global corporation. Here, I was entrusted with spearheading the formulation and execution of the supply network strategy for specific categories such as raw materials, MRO, product sourcing, and capital investment projects.

I was at the helm of supplier relationship management, defining the trajectory of supply network strategies within my assigned categories for the division. I was also instrumental in nurturing talent and developing a team capable of delivering the purchasing strategy for their categories. This position further underscored my resolve to uphold the highest standards of ethics and professionalism within a global organizational framework.

Under my leadership, we rolled out successful short and long-term procurement strategies for raw materials and indirect goods and services, ensuring perfect alignment with the overarching corporate spending strategy. I introduced Continuous Process Improvement techniques and approaches across departments and established a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting program to measure departmental performance.
