IELTS Writing Task 2 - Elena Artemeva
Introduction
Many people, even native English speakers, experience difficulties if they have to produce a long piece of writing – an essay, a research paper or a report. Luckily, IELTS has strict rules related to the form and content of Writing Task 2, so you just need to know these rules in order to compose a perfect IELTS essay. IELTS Writing is not a creative writing contest; it is all about the technique: if you use certain elements appropriately, you will definitely get your desired score.
When I prepared for my own IELTS test, I made up a couple of sample essays suitable for different types of IELTS Task 2 and different topics. It turned out that it was much easier to use the same material all the time than to invent new ideas and sentences for each training essay. These universal samples served me good as I got my 8.5 for IELTS General.
Later, my students used the same strategy to get ready for IELTS, and it proved to be extremely useful and easy to learn. I would like to share it with you, because I know how it is important for you to get the score you need and how challenging it may be to write essays on given topics.
All you need to do is to practice this technique and, probably, send some of your essays to an experienced IELTS teacher for correction and marking.
This book provides you with general guidelines for writing the IELTS essay, outlines, strategies how to do it as soon as possible, connectors, phrases, and clichés. Lists of advanced vocabulary on main IELTS topics are also included. Follow the steps, and you will easily master the IELTS writing skills.
