Chapter 1: Introduction

There is a major shift in consciousness occurring now, all over the planet. It is showing up in innumerable ways, not the least of which is a breakdown of major societal structures. Even for people that very much want things to change, this instability can be unsettling. The old ways are not working anymore, or perhaps we are just realizing they never did.

We are, individually and collectively, finding new ways. And, as we find new ways, it is natural to want to share them. That is what this book is intended to do – to share insights and information I have discovered that have proven helpful to me and others.

Who am I? Certainly not a guru, minister, doctor, or any sort of authority figure who places herself above others and claims to have everything figured out. The new way of teaching is not done from a pedestal or even a podium; it is a sharing of knowledge and experience that occurs among equals.

I started my first major self-improvement program when I was 10 years old. Since then, I have traveled many paths and learned something from each one. I can promise you that I won't be parroting information from self-help sources that I have not successfully applied myself. The truth is that other people's methods have rarely worked for me, and that has been a blessing. Had they worked, I might have stopped looking. Instead, I forged ahead on a decades-long course of independent exploration that has exponentially broadened my view of the nature of reality and consciousness.

Sometimes, quite honestly, I feel like I don't know anything at all – but then I listen to other people talk, and I realize that I do. The circuitous path I've traveled has gifted me with insights and a perception that is significantly different from that of anyone else I know.

None of us truly thinks outside the box; we just have differently shaped boxes. Sometimes when I try to convey an idea to a person, they can't comprehend it because it is outside of their belief structure box. We all have such a box, although I have several times traded up for larger sizes.

I have found that when people are presented with information that is totally outside their world view, they cannot assimilate it, regardless of their intelligence level. This principle applies even when people are given a physical demonstration. If they cannot expand their world view to accommodate what they have witnessed, they won't process the sensory input, or will reconfigure it in a manner that fits their beliefs

One of my greatest joys in life is sharing with others in ways that uplift, inform, and inspire them. I have been doing this on an individual basis for much of my life. Through writing and speaking more publicly, I can reach many more people who may find value in what I offer.

I encourage you to take to heart what resonates with you and set aside what
