The revised Victims' Rights Directive
Parliament and Council negotiators reached agreement on the revision of the 2012 Victims' Rights Directive on 10 December 2025. The revised text strengthens the rights, support and protection of victims of crime, in particular by facilitating the reporting of crimes and improving the support services to victims with specific needs. Parliament is due to vote on the formal adoption of the agreed text during the May plenary session.
New protocol to the EU–Cook Islands sustainable fisheries agreement
During its May 2026 plenary session, Parliament is due to vote on whether to give its consent to the conclusion of a new protocol to the existing EU fisheries partnership agreement with the government of the Cook Islands. The new protocol would grant fishing opportunities to EU vessels in the Cook Islands' waters while also promoting the country’s sustainable management of fisheries resources.
Futuros eventos
Members of the Internal Market Committee will travel to Martinique to better understand how the EU Single Market works in outermost regions. The visit aims to examine current challenges affecting fair competition, prices, and access to goods and services. It will also explore how EU rules could be adapted to reflect local realities and improve conditions for consumers and businesses in these regions.
Members of the FISC Subcommittee will travel to Brasília, Brazil, from 26 to 28 May 2026 in order to discuss developments in the area of international taxation and the fight against tax avoidance and evasion.
