Hollyoaks has confirmed a dramatic hostage situation will air next week, as the plan to kill Abe Fielding unfolds.

Abe’s crimes against the women of the village are gradually being exposed, after Peri and Cleo both reported his abuse to the police and he was arrested.

But in yesterday’s episode, Abe handed in an intimate tape of him and Cleo from while she was held captive to the police. This cast doubt on Cleo’s story, and he was released without charge.

Later this week, Mercedes believes that they have run out of options, and proposes that in order to stop Abe, they will have to kill him.

In scenes that will air next week, Leela begins to have doubts about the murderous scheme, but Mercedes, Cleo and Peri tell her that this is the only way to stop Abe from hurting someone else.

The women put their plan into action, and Leela tricks Abe into meeting her in the flat – with Cleo and Peri already there waiting for him.

While Abe is cornered, he discovers what the women have been planning. With the truth revealed, the trio could be in real danger in their efforts to bring Abe down.

Meanwhile, it is the grand opening of The Hutch, and Tony is pleased that his big day is going well. But Abe secretly sneaks in through the back of the restaurant, waiting to get his mum Marie on her own.

When she sees her son, Marie confronts him and makes it clear that she’s ashamed of him and what he has done to Cleo and Peri.

Abe wants Marie’s help, but when he realises that she isn’t going to lend a hand, he holds a knife to her and leads his mum through The Hutch. As the situation escalates, Abe demands someone at the event to give him some car keys to make an escape.

Elsewhere, Arlo struggles to believe that his older brother has committed these horrific crimes, and he trashes the house in anger.

What will unfold in The Hutch, and will Abe be able to get away?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
