Rangers' Dennis Cholowski: Signing two-year contract
Cholowski signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract with the Rangers on Thursday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Cholowski has made 173 regular-season NHL appearances across seven appearances, and he's landed a multi-year deal ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. He made 17 regular-season appearances with the Devils last year, recording two assists and 17 blocked shots while averaging 14:40 of ice time.

Rangers' Glenn Gawdin: Off to join Blueshirts
Gawdin signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Rangers on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Gawdin spent the last two years in the Kings' organization but didn't make an NHL appearance. He totaled 42 goals and 71 assists over 143 AHL regular-season contests with Ontario. Gawdin could compete for bottom-six minutes with the Rangers, but he'll more than likely spend most of his time with AHL Hartford if he's able to clear waivers at the start of the campaign.

Rangers' Marc Del Gaizo: Inks two-year deal
Del Gaizo signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Rangers on Wednesday.
Del Gaizo's new deal likely amounts to organizational depth for the Rangers. He spent nearly all of 2025-26 in the AHL with Laval, where he had 27 points in 63 regular-season games. He last played in the NHL in 2024-25, when he logged nine points over 46 outings for the Predators.

Rangers' Marcus Pettersson: Heading to Broadway
Pettersson was traded to the Rangers from the Canucks on Wednesday in exchange for a conditional 2030 first-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
The pick is a top-10 protected selection. Pettersson should occupy a similar role with the Rangers as he did with the Canucks, likely playing second-pairing minutes and some time on the penalty kill. He had 18 points, 66 shots on net, 79 hits, 136 blocked shots, 60 PIM and a minus-19 rating over 82 contests on the bottom-dwelling Canucks last year.

Rangers' Cole Beaudoin: Acquired in trade
Beaudoin, Sean Durzi and a 2027 third-round pick were acquired by Utah from the Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for Vincent Trocheck, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
During the 2025-26 campaign with OHL Barrie, Beaudoin had 33 goals and 88 points in 54 regular-season appearances before adding 10 goals and 29 points in 15 playoff outings. Utah took him with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and he has the potential to become a top-six forward for the Rangers. However, he could begin the 2026-27 campaign with AHL Hartford.

Rangers' Sean Durzi: Traded to Rangers
Durzi, Cole Beaudoin and a 2027 third-round pick were traded to the Rangers from the Mammoth on Wednesday in exchange for Vincent Trocheck, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Durzi made 60 regular-season appearances for Utah in 2025-26, recording five goals, 22 assists, 88 blocked shots, 50 PIM and 40 hits while averaging 19:16 of ice time. He should be in the mix for a role on the second or third pairing, but it's unclear if he will get any power-play time.

Rangers' Oliver Bjorkstrand: Gets one-year contract
Bjorkstrand signed a one-year, $4.5 million contract with the Rangers on Wednesday, per Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Bjorkstrand had 12 goals, 32 points, 16 PIM and 85 hits in 80 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. That ended his run of five straight regular seasons in which he recorded over 40 points. The 31-year-old is likely to serve in a middle-six capacity with the Rangers in 2026-27.

Rangers' Joe Veleno: Joining Blueshirts on one-year deal
Veleno signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Rangers on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Veleno's production decreased during his time with Montreal in the 2025-26 campaign. He recorded two goals, three assists, 166 hits, 32 blocked shots and 19 PIM while averaging 12:05 of ice time across 61 regular-season appearances. He snapped a four-year streak with double-digit points but will attempt to bounce back with the Rangers.

Rangers' Joonas Korpisalo: Dealt Wednesday
Korpisalo was acquired by the Rangers from Boston on Wednesday in exchange for a 2028 fourth-round pick and Kalle Vaisanen.
Korpisalo had a 14-9-6 record, 3.15 GAA and .894 save percentage in 31 regular-season appearances with Boston in 2025-26. He's set to serve as the No. 2 option with the Rangers behind Igor Shesterkin, and Korpisalo will probably end up with around 25-30 starts in 2026-27 if all goes as planned.

Rangers' Massimo Rizzo: Going to Broadway in trade
The Rangers acquired Rizzo and the No. 148 pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft from Nashville on Saturday in exchange for Adam Edstrom.
Rizzo has been traded three times in a span of three-and-a-half months. He went from Philadelphia to Boston on March 6 and was then moved to Nashville six days later. Rizzo appeared in 14 AHL games between Providence and Milwaukee last regular season, supplying two goals and three assists. He also recorded 22 points (six goals, 16 assists) in 29 games for ECHL Reading in the 2025-26 regular season. He's a depth move for the Rangers' system.

Rangers' Tomas Chrenko: Value pick for Rangers in Round 3
Chrenko was the 81st overall pick by the Rangers in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Chrenko had a big offensive season, posting 31 points in 44 games while playing in the top league in his native Slovakia. He added 12 points in 19 playoff appearances and was probably the most effective player for his country at the World Juniors. Chrenko lacks size at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, but he's constantly around the puck in all three zones, causing chaos and creating scoring chances. His shot is underrated, and he's good with the man advantage. Chrenko has a high floor. Should he fail to make it as a top-six scorer, he has plenty of traits that would help him succeed as a very useful role player. He's a quality addition for New York at this stage of the draft.

Rangers' Charlie Morrison: Headed to Big Apple
Morrison was the 77th overall pick by the Rangers in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Morrison has a chance at an NHL career if deployed correctly down the line. At 6-foot-3, he skates well and plays hard. That's the good news. The bad news is that his offensive game is severely limited. Over the course of two QMJHL seasons, Morrison has managed just six goals and 28 points in 104 games. Production like that at the junior level, even for rearguards, is often not encouraging. The hope is that Morrison can make a reliable first pass at the highest level, allowing him to develop into a steady, stay-at-home option who can log heavy defensive minutes. Morrison will probably play one more season in the junior ranks before moving to UConn in the fall of 2027.

Rangers' Danai Shaiikov: Adds goaltending depth to NY system
Shaiikov was the 67th overall pick by the Rangers in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
The Rangers had to address the goaltending position at some point in the draft, but taking an overage netminder in Shaiikov early in Round 3 was not the expected plan. The Kazakhstan native arrived in the QMJHL last season and posted an 18-26-2 record along with a 2.78 and .903 save percentage. Clearly, New York sees something in his game that they think he can work with. Shaiikov is expected to return as Gatineau's starter in the 2026-27 campaign.

Rangers' Ben Macbeath: Final pick of Round 2
Macbeath was the 64th overall pick by the Rangers in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Macbeath played for WHL Calgary this past season after spending the year before in the BCHL and became an immediate impact player. He logged a ton of minutes, finishing with 51 points in 67 games. However, he slowed down in the club's brief playoff run. At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Macbeath is big and highly mobile. His offensive numbers likely overstate his natural offensive talent, but he displayed an ability to contribute on the power play and penalty kill. He's a solid all-around defenseman. Macbeath will join the University of Denver in the fall.

Rangers' Alberts Smits: Fifth overall pick at NHL Draft
Smits was the fifth overall pick by the New York Rangers in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
Smits is going to challenge Sandis Ozolins as the best Latvian to ever play in the NHL. The latter won a Cup and played in seven All-Star games as an offensive defender. Smits is a better all-around defender whose maturity, mobility and snarl at just 18 years old already profiles him as an elite modern, transitional defender. He has pro size, a great stick and one heck of a shot. Think Jakob Chychrun-type hammer. Smits' elite mobility for a big man will eventually put him on the Rangers' top pair. There's some parallel to Moritz Seider's game in Smits, especially in their draft-year ascensions and their size/snarl combos. Smits might not excel immediately like Seider, but never say never. Smits could ultimately be the best defender in the 2026 class.

Rangers' Pavel Dorofeyev: Headed to Big Apple in shocker
Dorofeyev was traded to the Rangers from Vegas on Friday in exchange for the No. 26 and No. 92 overall picks in the 2026 NHL Draft and a conditional 2028 first-round pick, per Mollie Walker of the NY Post. Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Dorofeyev will sign a seven-year, $77 million contract extension with the Rangers.
This seems like a massive win for New York considering Dorofeyev scored 37 goals in the 2025-26 regular season and won't turn 26 years of age until late October. He was a pending restricted free agent with arbitration rights, which made Dorofeyev too expensive for the Golden Knights to retain. The Russian finished second in the NHL with 20 power-play tallies last season and is primed for a top-line role with his new club. Career-best numbers could easily be forthcoming for Dorofeyev. Rangers general manager Chris Drury was in need of a massive victory, and he found one with this move.

Rangers' William Trudeau: Traded to Blueshirts
Trudeau was traded to the Rangers from the Canadiens on Friday in exchange for Brett Berard, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Trudeau has played exclusively for AHL Laval over the past four seasons, most recently recording eight goals, 12 assists and 54 PIM across 62 regular-season appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. He'll get a change of scenery ahead of the 2026-27 season, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him spend most, or all, of his time in the minors once again.

Rangers' Dylan Garand: Signs two-year deal
Garand signed a two-year, $1.75 million contract with the Rangers on Sunday, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.
Garand had a 2-0-1 record while allowing only five goals on 96 shots in three appearances for the Rangers last campaign. He also went 16-15-2 with a 2.83 GAA and an .896 save percentage across 36 regular-season appearances with AHL Hartford in 2025-26. The 24-year-old will compete for the backup role behind Igor Shesterkin during training camp.
