St. Augustine is quite the quaint place.

St. Augustine is quite the quaint place. I recommend visitors hire one of the local guides (especially for a glimpse into the history of America's oldest city). Not only will you learn things about some of America's most famous Floridians, but you'll learn things about them that you would not have expected. In the tour we took, our guide was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the town, but also gave great recommendations on where to shop, eat, and sight-see. If coming in the Summer, it's advised to cover up (umbrella / cap) and-or bring your sunscreen as it can become quite warm. Still, there's always a nice breeze in many shadowy areas as you wind your way through this enchanting piece of history.

    Nice place to visit.

Nice place to visit. Not welcoming to outsiders if you hope to relocate. Better to go to Flagler County just south if you want to relocate. DEFINETLY enjoy the HISTORY Especially with Catholic Church and FIRST place for HOLY EUCHARIST in the USA. First Congregation in USA from the Pedro Menenedez fleet now at the Cathedral Basilica right in the Historic District of Saint Augustine.

St. Augustine has so many things to do there.

St. Augustine has so many things to do there. You could easily spend a week there and not get bored. We were there for about 2 days. We were able to visit the lighthouse, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the old St. Augustine shops. We also ate at 3 restaurants. It was a very nice trip. Not long enough, but had to get back.

Loved the history, but hated that everything cost so much money..didnt expect to have to pay to look at Fort.. Take walking shoes, parking is hard to find and you walk quite a distance... We went to state manatus park and rode free ferry to small fort, it is free and very educational

We took this route to The Keys so we were just passing thru.

We took this route to The Keys so we were just passing thru. I've passed thru before but with others leading the show so I never had the chance to explore the city. But being an architecture freak I wanted to see a few things before we carried on with our journey. And it does not disappoint! We checked out some of Forsyth Park, Bridge of Lions, the outside of St. Augustine Lighthouse, ate at Gaufre's & Goods (Greek & Polish food - super yummy!), and a little of Aviles Street - all of which have me wanting to explore them more as well as all the things we didn't have time for. The trees with the Spanish moss create such a comforting feeling as they overhang many streets, not to mention their interesting limbs and beauty. I thought this would be a one and done experience but we now plan on visiting again in the future. It's just so beautiful and an architecture freak and history buff's dream.

This is the best hotel in St. Augustine. This is a real castle with beautiful architecture and paintings. Everything looks great inside. We visited the restaurant on the 1st floor several times. The kitchen was top notch. The rooms, though small, are comfortable, with a large double bed. The staff is very polite and pleasant. We were satisfied with our choice.

We really loved our 2 nights stay at Casa Solana, it might be the best hotel on our 3 weeks through Florida. A very authentic hotel, inside and outside. And we really enjoyed the breakfast! It was not the usual buffet, but maybe the most “special” breakfast we had in a hotel, and I mean this the good way! Location is great to visit St Augustine!
