I liked the cleanliness of my room. I also liked that even though my room was near an elevator it wasn’t noisy so I was able to sleep well.

One could easily spend an entire weekend just visiting the downtown parts of Portland on the west side of the Willamette River. The Northwest district, Nob Hill, Old Town, and The Pearl have enough sites and food to keep a newcomer occupied. West of 405 feels more neighborhood-like with places like Scottie's Pizza Parlor (a must-try if you're into Neo-Neopolitan style pizza), Cinema 21 is a great place to take in independent (or not) films and Coffee Time on the outside looks like any old cafe, however once inside, explore the rear dining area and its cavernous and speakeasy-esque atmosphere. If you're into table games - the Mox Boarding house on W Burnside is a really cool experience where you shop for gaming stuff or you can be served real food and drink while playing a variety of table top games. East of 405 things start to get fancier and the experiences more famous - like getting lost inside the stacks and stacks of books at Powell's bookstore, visiting the original Voodoo donut shop, or hitting up the Saturday market. If you have more time and got a car then the east of the river neighborhoods totally can't be missed. East Hawthorne, Division, Burnside, Alberta are all wonderful streets to explore with many unique shops, restaurants, and businesses and to me these neighborhoods are a must-visit and super cool.

Portland as a city has a lot to offer. You can easily spend a week there, and don't forget the short drive to the Pacific Ocean. Highly reccomend the French Patisserie- worlds best baked goods- and I used to dine frequently in Montreal. The zoo, Hoyt Arbereutum. Go have a great time.

Portland used to be one of the most beautiful, clean and exciting cities I'd ever visited or lived in! (& yes, I did live there for 7 years) Not anymore!
Still beautiful location but totally lost it's appeal with the homelessness, crime, road rage, mind numbing "sanctuary" status and loss of "neighborliness"!

I don't like Portland as a city anymore. Too many homeless cracked out people roaming the streets. I don't feel safe walking around, especially at night.
I do however LOVE eating at killer burger, and make it a must stop place to eat! The peanut butter pickle burger is the absolute Best!!!

We came to Portland primarily for Kumoricon, but stayed another day to just explore and check out the city. We visited last year but our primary focus was attending the con.
November is a tricky time to go; the fall colors are beautiful and the air is delightfully crisp, but it's cold, windy, and grey. We visited the Rose Test Garden and it was still quite pretty, but definitely not as enchanting as it could be.
Getting around Portland is extremely easy if you know where you want to go. Pro tip: either buy day tickets or use the mobile fastpass and just ride around on the light rail. It's ~$5 for a day pass and you can hop on and off wherever. Most of the city is walkable and easy to get around :)
Overall, there's lot of food options, interesting places to check out, and lots of fun and friendly people to interact with. Definitely a great place!

It was a great place to stay! Breakfast was lacking but I guess that was all that could be expected. Missing items that were not delivered they said. We tried to go downtown but were encouraged by many not to park down there so we ended up leaving Portland earlier than expected. Hotel was a great local though.
The location was great for exploring downtown Portland. Kennedy and his team were excellent and took good care of me and other guests. Breakfast was fantastic. They also checked in with me throughout the stay to give recommendations and make sure I had everything I needed.
Good services and amenities. Best hotel coffee and tisanes. Perfect location for Portland downtown. All the rooms all well equipped. Breakfast is only continental.
