A Tennessee Mountain Home
Pigeon Forge is a family entertainment hotbed in the Great Smoky Mountains. Though ‘great’ is quite an understatement, as the sight of blue mist hovering above forested peaks is simply breathtaking.
The most famous attraction is undoubtedly Dollywood, where a steam train puffs around a host of rides and shows in a theme park named after country legend Dolly Parton. Within the grounds is the Southern Gospel Museum and Hall of Fame, and next door are pools and waterslides at Dolly’s Splash Country.
Cowboy boots should be at the ready for the singer’s Dixie Stampede dinner theatre and the Country Tonite Theater, and toe-tapping is also virtually guaranteed at the Grand Majestic Theater and Smoky Mountain Opry.
The Old Mill is a wooden watermill on the Little Pigeon River, once part of a forge complex which sparked the town’s name. Also by the river are some Pigeon Forge outlet malls and the NASCAR SpeedPark which hosts car and truck events. The Elvis Museum houses memorabilia of ‘The King’ while the Titanic Museum is a floating, half-size replica of the doomed ship.
This is just the tip of the iceberg and with Booking.com’s great deals on pet-friendly hotels and cheap motels on Pigeon Forge Parkway, you might just be tempted to do what the town’s sign requests: Y’all come back.

Always... always something to do for any age.
Always... always something to do for any age. For a vacation, the prices and rates are appropriate. Only thing we noticed on this trip was the amount of police busting peoples b*lls. You don't need to bring in extra money with tickets in pigeon forge and Sevierville.

Pigeon Forge can get busy but not like Gatlinburg.
Pigeon Forge can get busy but not like Gatlinburg. People are very friendly. You can walk if you are able to do so or you can ride trolly You can see a beautiful Mountain View. The shows were closed for President Day but we went to 3 bears and feed the little bears. Drove to Smokies but closed due to ice. Still a great visit.

There is so much to do here, but planning ahead is key to enjoying your stay. We went to see the pirates dinner show and it was fantastic. We also went to the New Years Eve celebration at the Island. They provides lots of rocking chairs, but if don't get there early, bring your own chair so that your not standing for the whole time. Also dress warm and maybe even bring a blanket. Dollywood was magical, would highly recommend! We loved The Island for New Year's, with the fireworks and the amazing ferris wheel! Did some hiking in the Smokies, Laurel Falls was a nice trip. I would say overall I would definitely go back, but not in December, too crowded.
