City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

I stayed in a 6 room and it was surprisingly very clean and comfy. It is a great location. This hotel is totally worth the money. Had a really lovely stay here solo. Staff were also nice and easy to communicate with. Within walking distance to many venues and food locations. I did not encounter any problems will walking expect the homeless population on the streets. I took the Metro train to Hollywood no problems. Don't forget to bring a lock for the closet if you want to leave stuff behind in the room while you are away. The room didn't have a kettle or a microwave so making a late night snack was a bit difficult. Amazing people! Definitely a highlight in our trip to LA.

There was nothing charming in my opinion about LA.

There was nothing charming in my opinion about LA. It’s a cultural wasteland. I went for a four day stop over on the way home from a 5 week trip to Mexico. I found LA confronting by the level of homelessness ( very sad), the place was filthy, transportation mediocre compared to the rest of the world and also just very expensive. LA is not for me . I travel the world and it’s just on the bottom of my list.

The city is abandoned, the traffic is chaotic, the people are rude, the climate is terrible and polluted, the prices of things are unfair because they are not worth what they charge. And the worst part of all this is the people are RUDELY .

Perfect trip for cinema lovers, it is still the place to go.

Perfect trip for cinema lovers, it is still the place to go. You can feel how the city revolves around entertaiment, and there is always somenthing to do. I recomend a hop-on hop-off tour bus so that you can explore the main spots in town without overspending. But don't take the celebrity houses one - that takes too long and it's quite boring I do not recomend taking the metro.

Loved the location, super close to alot of high-end restaraunts and great overall vibe at the hotel and very clean. Great point for checking our all the touristy things on and near Hollywood boulevard and super close proximity to universal studios. They let us keep our luggage at the front desk after check out as we had a super late night flight that day and the food and cocktails are great! Definitely not a cheap spot though if you are looking at travelling on a budget but definitley a couples friendly hotel.

clean hotel within a vibrant yet quiet cultural downtown neighborhood, 20 mins walking distance to the interesting little tokyo district as well as to the beautiful union station and the enhanced airport shuttle, some longer walking distance to the next subway station for other downtown areas, hollywood, venice beach etc. (all of them not really worth to see), could check in way earlier than officially possible, best value for overpriced los angeles.

Perfect spot in Hollywood and a beautiful hotel. Clean, modern and spacious. Had the Hollywood Sign View Room which was amazing, with a proper view of the sign. It’s right next to the Ovation Mall and the Hollywood Walk of Fame so was extremely convenient for us. As expected it wasn’t cheap but that was not surprising given the area. Overall not one thing to complain about!

Loved the pool area and a hotel bar is always a great bonus for travellers. The shuttle to Universal Studios was great and saved parking fees at the park. The staff were fantastic and the cost wasn't bad relative to alternatives albeit it certainly isn't cheap. Great location for Universal and Warner Bros. The onsite restaurant is also a decent and convenient option.
