The city design with a wide river cutting through it and many bays, islands, and bridges is unique. A variety of neighborhoods is appealing. It is also close to beaches on the Atlantic coast. Botanical content, bars, and dance places add to the attraction. Compared with the south of Florida (the Ft. Lauderdale-Miami zone), Jax is much more relaxed and less pretentious regarding showing off the wealth of rich inhabitants. On the downside, homeless people are visible, and crime statistics call for caution.

We enjoyed four full days in Jacksonville and the standouts were the beaches, American Beach and San Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, which was such a beautiful and inspiring place. Also, dinner at Safe Harbor on the water was exceptional and it is our 3rd time eating there.

Big city, lots of traffic but they know mostly how to direct traffic with the design of their lanes. Being in a big city can sometimes get overwhelming with traffic but Jax wasn’t terrible for a Saturday evening right before a Jelly Roll concert at the VyStar Memorial. Stayed at the SouthBank Marriott, picked up a handheld sandwich from the hotel restaurant. We were able to walk from the hotel entirely over the bridge and it was a beautiful view. Especially at night when the blue lights shine in the water.

Jacksonville is mainly a workers city so the only reason you really need to go there is too attend a college/university or start a job. There is really not much for tourists from my personal experience. That being said there are several good colleges in the area for example the university of north Florida is a beautiful campus was professors of high standards. Also a lot of corporations have offices in this city which can make it ideal for people having trouble finding jobs in other parts of Florida. The beach area also appeared to be very nice to visit but when I went here for business the weather was less than ideal so I really couldn’t judge.

Our room was spotless, super clean, beds were comfortable and the view is nice. very relaxing place, shampoo and bodywash are good quality, the staff are going the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Nohing but the best place were my family and I had stayed, we stopped in Georgia, Naples and now Jacksonville Foorida and True by Hilton was the best place for us! We will definetely come back. :) Lovely weather!Louis.79
