We love Destin - specifically, Miramar Beach.
We love Destin - specifically, Miramar Beach. We've been going there for years. It is always relaxing and a wonderful vacation. Every time we have to leave for home, I say I want to live near the beach year-round. I hope someday that will be a reality. I prefer Destin over Fort Walton or Pensacola. Fort Walton gives a sort of cheap vibe, but Destin always feels upscale and classy. Pensacola is fine enough, but I feel the beaches in Destin are superior. The weekend we stayed in Destin (Memorial Day weekend), the water was as beautiful as I'd ever seen it. The water was so clear, we could see to the sand below for several hundred feet. Not a bit of algae was floating in the water, which was so nice. The beaches are well-maintained with plenty of lifeguards, and it's always a restful, relaxing experience.Guest review byKimiUnited States - Review score

I grew up coming to Destin for the weekends in the 80s. I've always loved a few days at the beach close to New Orleans. Staying in a condo with a balcony and view is always so relaxing. Waking up, making coffee and listening to the waves is beyond words. My beach day was 80degrees with a nice breeze and no clouds in the sky. Clear water, clean beaches and even some dolphin spotting. Destin offers beautiful white sand beaches and a variety of great accommodations. Along with the over-priced tourist places, Destin also has some nice local attractions and restaurants. Mimmo's for Italian and Pepita's for Mexican are two of my recommendations. For fine dining try the BOGO specials at Marina Cafe. Always a great experience with great views and wonderful food. Just an overnight on a travel trip but hotel was exactly as listed. No surprises. Impressed they offered a breakfast. Room was hugh with a king size bed. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Shower was clean with nice hot water. Know what you are getting: a great value hotel that does all the basics very well. After traveling to other places and beaches in FL, Destin is now our favorite! Stayed at the Sandpiper Cove Condos, a safe gated community with private beach 🥰 went on a cruise to see dolphins, ate Blue Crab at Boshamps Seafood, was going to Crab Island but due to High Tide and winds it was canceled.
