The Osaka Kurumon market is just a stone's throw away with lots of convenience stores just round every corner. Mimaru itself provides free flow coffee every morning and evening. They even provide free flow of soft drinks from 3pm - 9pm everyday. The hotel also has a gym, ice machine and a vending machine situated on the 2nd floor. Whilst the hotel does not provide breakfast, this was not a problem as our room came with a perfectly equipped kitchen and microwave.

FAQs about hotels in Osaka

A Stronghold of Japanese Culture

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.

However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.

The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.

The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.

The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

A beautiful city near the sea.

A beautiful city near the sea. However, I was scammed into booking a terrible room and lost 15,000 yen. They created multiple properties on Booking.com with names very similar to “Osaka Umeda West JR Tsukamoto Inn.” The room rate looks very cheap at only 2,000 yen per night, but they charge a cleaning fee of 7,000 yen for the entire stay. When I arrived and saw how terrible the room was, I canceled the booking and lost the entire amount I had paid.

Osaka is the place where my wife was born and grew up.

Osaka is the place where my wife was born and grew up. Her family were there and all her school friends. It is now a cosmopolitan city, with lots of foreigners living and working there. There are some good sightseeing, famous places like Osaka Castle and Shitennoji Temple, loads of art galleries and museums, lots of arcades with shops, cafes and restaurants. It is a location where people work, make families, and grow up. Back streets show where they live and play. Japan is not all about sightseeing and fun. Osaka has some places for that, but Osaka is a large cityscape and is the living heart of Japan. You will need to go a long way to find a country environment, the cities seem to run on and on, especially along the train lines. Osaka train stations are packed all the time, every day. Even Sunday has a peak hour, busy, vibe on the trains. Enjoy the busy environment.

Osaka has everything to offer. It has a combination of colorful vibes, day & night and a serene places at night. Parks, towers, street life were a feast to the eye, pallete and your soul. Whether you are travelling solo or with family, you can feel the much needed vibe, fun & leisure you wanted. We enjoyed USJ, Tower visits, Shrine & Pagoda visits, Parks, food, food and colorful food everywhere. We love Osaka. A day tour to Kyoto and Kobe are a must too.

If you were going to Japan I would recommend Osaka over Tokyo as its cleaner and easier to get around and more modern also but it felt spacious where we stayed in many ways. Near the Respire you have the underground and many walk ways around the area to get you around the place rather than trying to go by cab, but the cabs are great.

This hotel is in a fantastic central location, perfect for exploring Osaka. We booked a deluxe room, which was spacious and well equipped—definitely a highlight compared to other hotels we stayed in. As with most hotels in Japan, the room came with a range of amenities such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a hairbrush, and a pyjama with slippers were also provided. Our initial room faced the street, which made it a bit noisy, but we were able to switch to a quieter room on the other side of the building.

Location was fine, 10-15 minutes walk from Osaka station. After 6 days walking in southern Japan this was our first urban experience and it didn't disappoint. The size of the room was the first surprise. After reading so much of tiny rooms in Japanese hotels we were pleasantly surprised by Hotel Elcient as we continued to be at all our hotels in Kyoto, Hiroshima & Tokyo. Breakfast was great as was the onsen. Easy access via the subway to Namba station and onto Nara.

We liked the location of the hotel. There is also a supermarket in the basement that helped us buy food for our 1-year-old child and a station that connects to Osaka-Namba station which is very convenient. We also got a city view that is amazing at night. The rooms are spacious compared to the room sizes you see in Japanese hotels. It's also near Dotonbori. It is quiet at night, which is a plus plus point since we didn't have any difficulty putting our child to sleep.
