Wonderful hotel, location very close to everything - restaurants, port and main street. Very beautiful and delicious, restaurant-worthy breakfast. Fantastic view from the room window, very good shower and shampoo/conditioner, after which my hair was perfect.

Historic Hobart, with its convict past, was often referred to as Australia’s neglected backwater. How times have changed as its temperate climate, quiet lifestyle and fabulous food and markets make it a revitalising tourist destination along the Derwent River in Tasmania.
The city’s significant maritime history begins at Constitution Dock, situated along the waterfront and facing the beautiful harbour. Nearby Battery Point and affluent Sandy Bay feature Georgian and Victorian architecture and the first settler’s cottages in Australia’s 2nd oldest city.
Escape to a memorable view of Hobart town from the snow-covered Mount Wellington or get close up and personal in the city’s quaint streets. Hobart comes alive during the colourful Salamanca Market, held every Saturday morning, where you can bag a bargain or sample mouth-watering produce such as local wines and cheeses.
Cascade Brewery and Cadbury’s Chocolates have tours of these Tasmanian icons or visit Wrest Point Casino, a popular event and entertainment centre.
The annual Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race in December and Tulip Festival in the Royal Botanical Gardens swells the population in this small capital city. Make sure you check Booking.com ahead of time for your colonial cottage, cosy B&B or waterfront apartment.
Loved the food and hospitality. There were lots of things happening. It's a walking city so easy to get around and enjoy. The people were friendly and helpful which added to the experience. Salamanca markets were unexpectedly very good. Go to Mona via the ferry it is an experience worth the effort. Best brunch we have ever had at Born in Brunswick. To many great restaurants to mention but the hanging garden is worth a visit on a Friday or Saturday if only for the vibe.

Hobart harbour is a great place for somewhere to eat and drink. It is right next to the Salamanca markets on Saturday and provides numerous opportunities to take river/harbour cruises, bus tours and of course the ferry to Mona.

Using Hobart as a base camp is a good idea.
Using Hobart as a base camp is a good idea. There is so much to see and do only a few hours drive from Hobart. Being able to travel around Hobart to Port Arthur, Hastings Caves, Tahune Airwalk, Mt Wellington to name a few places we saw while we were there. I'm sure there is plenty more that we didn't see. I've been told the markets are not to be missed if you are there on a Saturday (sadly, we were not). Having Mt Wellington looming over the city, is an awesome back drop and the Derwent River is stunning for someone from Brisbane Qld.

Hobart is all about old world charm, with her historic stone buildings and country charm feel; she may be small but she is large on culture. The art scene in Hobart is vibrant and artistic flair can be found throughout a city where many artists have found inspiration and a home. The modern art museum, Mona is a must see. A city rich in history and stories. A city surrounded by ocean and the bounty that it bares; the seafood is to die for. Restaurants such as the Drunken Admiral should definitely be on your list for the most delicious dining experience. Salamanca Markets each Saturday are full of the best crafts, food, jewellery… all local artists. Hobart is surrounded by nature- bushwalking, hikes, bike trails and water adventures. It has it all

the property is exceptional, with features available in most 5 star hotels but without the the price. staff were amazing, beds showers fantastic, Timms and architecture of the hotel are world class. on our last night we had just returned from a huge hike. the wonderful staff gave us bath salts and a bar of local chocolate without us asking. we finished the nice with delicious fresh food, great wines and jazz in the downstairs bar. a must stay when in Hobart.
Our premium waterfront suite was absolutely incredible at MACq 01. Everything from the large beautifully designed bathroom to the amazing terrace and harbour views. Highly recommend this suite and hotel for anyone wanting a luxury stay in the heart of Hobart! Staff were very attentive and also made our arrival very pleasant with a bittle of Tasmanian sparkling wine on arrival.
An older style hotel but still comfortable and about 3km from CBD of Hobart. Bed very comfortable and windows that can be opened to let fresh air into rooms unlike sealed rooms in more modern hotels. Host Kevin cooks an excellent breakfast of bacon, eggs and fried tomatoes plus toast jam and coffee to follow.
Was one of the closest and nicely priced hotels to Hobart airport - was a short uber ride away only.
Self check in afterhours was great, as was the communication from the hotel prior to check-in.
Would book here again the next time we travel to Hobart.
