Registration Confirmation and Communication

  • We email confirmations, within 2 hours of registration, to the individual who is registered for the class.
  • If you register for an ASM course and have not heard from us please contact the ASM Member Service Center (440.338.5151, ext. 0 or [email protected])  to confirm your registration and verify the course location and dates.
  • Access to course materials requires a unique email address for the student enrolled.  All communications concerning access to course materials and the status of the class will be accomplished by email. It is the responsibility of the class registrant to ensure that a valid email address has been supplied and email filter settings are not preventing delivery of emails from ASM International-email..
  • You will receive an email which will contain information about accessing course materials as well as details specifically related to the location and venue for the course.

 

Course Fees

  • Any unpaid registrations MUST be paid in full on or before the first day of class.
  • Course fees include course materials, lunches and coffee breaks.

 

Course Completion

  • Upon successful completion of the requirements defined in the course materials (typically at least a final must be passed with a minimum score of 80%) , you will receive online access to a certificate stating the number of IACET Continuing Education Units earned.  ASM International is a Certified IACET CEU Provider and has demonstrated compliance to the ANSI/IACET Standard.

 

Cancellation Policy

  • Confirmed reservations that are cancelled 15+ calendar days prior to the start of class will receive a full refund less a $75 processing charge.*
  • Confirmed reservations that are cancelled 8-14 calendar days prior to the start of class will be granted a credit with ASM International which can be used within one year of enrollment for use towards an ASM education class less a $75 processing charge.  After a period of one year, if the credit has not been used, the registrant will forfeit the entire payment amount.*
  • Confirmed reservations that are cancelled 7 calendar days or less prior to the start of class will not be refunded.  In addition, no-shows will not be refunded.*

*If you find you cannot attend a course and would like to send a substitute in your place, please provide written or e-mail notice to ASM International at least 24 hours prior to the course start date. If the original participant received the ASM member rate and the substitute is not an ASM member, the difference between the member and nonmember rates will be billed accordingly.

ASM International reserves the right to cancel any class due to low registrations or for any other reason, refunding registration fees if necessary without additional financial obligation. In the event it is necessary for ASM to cancel a class, email notification will be sent no less than two weeks prior to the class starting date.

It is the responsibility of the class registrant to ensure that a valid email address has been supplied and email filter settings are not preventing  delivery of emails from ASM International. Email communications will be the primary channel of communications leading up to the start of classes.

It is highly recommended that refundable airline tickets are purchased only after verifying that the class will run as scheduled by contacting the ASM Member Service Center (440.338.5151, ext. 0 or [email protected]).  ASM International is not liable for any fees associated with a participant having to reschedule airline reservations due to a course cancellation.

 

Self-Study FAQs

  • ASM SelfStudy courses must be ordered in the name of the student.
  • Payment for Self-Study Courses can be made using a student’s credit card or any corporate card.
  • Students registered for Self-Study courses receive a confirmation email and link to the Learning Management System (LMS) where they can download and print their lessons and return to take their examinations. (No printed materials are mailed to students).
  • Because the course is managed through the online Learning Management System, ASM can only extend the Member Price to registering students who are already ASM Members. (Members purchasing for non-members is not possible in the LMS).
  • Upon successful completion the student prints their own certificate of achievement from the Learning Management System after completing the post-course survey.

 

Refund Policy for Online and Self-Study Courses

For all On-line and Self-Study purchases sales are considered final. However a full refund may be given if requested in writing to ASM International Education within 30 days of purchasing an Online or Self-Study course. However, if the ASM International records demonstrate that the student has accessed more than two lessons online within those 30 days then no refund will be issued.

 

Tax Deduction for Education Purposes

The IRS permits an income tax deduction for educational expenses, including registration and materials fees, cost of travel, meals and lodging; which is undertaken to:

  • Maintain or improve skills required in one’s employment, or other trade or business; or
  • Meet express requirements of an employer or law imposed as a condition to retention of employment, job status or rate of compensation (Treasury Regulation 1,162.5).

 

Smoking Policy

  • ASM maintains a non-smoking facility. However, smoking is permitted in a designated area outside the building.

 

Non-Discrimination Statement

ASM International accepts registration irrespective of race, sex, color or national origin. This includes, but is not limited to, admissions, employment and education services.
