ASM Materials Camp®-Teachers I: The Basics
This week-long, hands-on lab experience shows educators how to use applied engineering techniques in their classroom. Materials Camp®-Teachers is an idea-generating workshop introducing teachers to methods that make math and core science principles more enticing and relevant to their middle and high school students.

ASM Materials Camp®-Teachers II: Advanced
The Materials Camp®-Teachers II/Advanced (sometimes referred to as “Year 2 Camp”) is for educators who have already attended Materials Camp®-Teachers I. The primary goal of this program is to help teachers prepare and implement a successful Materials Science course.

ASM Teacher Institute
ASM Teacher Institute is a year-long professional development program that expands the content and resources taught in the Materials Camp – Teachers program. Participants in this program are teachers who are teaching in Title 1 schools and/or serving in under-served communities. Program consists of 1) attendance at the nationally recognized ASM Materials Camp-Teachers in NE Ohio (June 23-27, 2025), 2) monthly professional development sessions (in-person and/or virtual), and 3) support to implement both out-of-school programming and course content for students. Stipends provided.

Traditionally, in-person ASM Materials Camps® are held across North America. These are usually five-day camps and may be residential (requiring overnight stay), commuter (daily) or mini-camps (one day or less). Typical schedule is 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (Friday). Please note that applications for ASM Materials Camps®-Teachers and all Specialty camps are separate. Applicants are admitted to the program on a first-come-first-served basis.NOTE: Option for graduate credits is NOT offered for the Virtual Materials Camp-Teachers.
