This va- riety is known worldwide and highly rated by wine specialists. Hunter Valley is Australia’s oldest wine region, and the first vineyards were planted here in 1825. White wines are mostly produced, with Shiraz as prevailing variety. In addition to these subregions, it is worth mentioning the Mag- gie area, where Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz are grown.
