Béez

The Béez, is a left tributary of the Gave de Pau, in Béarn (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), in the Southwest of France. It flows into the gave upstream from Pau, between the Ouzoum and the Luz.

Name

The name Béez, which presents some parallelism with those of the Léez or the Néez, is in fact a variant of the name of the Baïse.

The names of the Bès, a tributary of the neighboring Luz, and of the Bez, a tributary of the Midouze, are related.

Geography

The Béez rises on the slopes of the Pic Durban, elevation 1,700 metres (5,600 ft), where it is known as the Bazest, Baseigt or Baset. It flows north into the Gave de Pau in Nay.

Wood

Wood is a porous and fibrous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees and other woody plants.

It has been used for thousands of years for both fuel and as a construction material. It is an organic material, a natural composite of cellulose fibers (which are strong in tension) embedded in a matrix of lignin which resists compression. Wood is sometimes defined as only the secondary xylem in the stems of trees, or it is defined more broadly to include the same type of tissue elsewhere such as in the roots of trees or shrubs. In a living tree it performs a support function, enabling woody plants to grow large or to stand up by themselves. The Earth contains about 434 billion cubic meters of growing stock forest, 47% of which is commercial. As an abundant, carbon-neutral renewable resource, woody materials have been of intense interest as a source of renewable energy. In 1991, approximately 3.5 cubic kilometers of wood were harvested. Dominant uses were for furniture and building construction.

"Wood" is a song by English post-trip hop band Second Person, which will be on the band's second album: "The Elements" - the follow-up to their debut album "Chromatography". Released on 9 August 2007, this song has a music video created by a collaboration of artists, animators and the band. This video is the first chapter in a story spanning five videos that make up a short animated film also called "The Elements". These video along with the album were created for "believers" in the band on Sellaband.com who helped the band raise $50,000 to record their album. Wood (Wu Xing)

Wood (Chinese: 木; pinyin: mù), sometimes translated as Tree, is the growing of the matter, or the matter's growing stage. Wood is the first phase of Wu Xing. Wood is yang in character. It stands for springtime, the east, the planet Jupiter, the color green, wind, and the Azure Dragon (Qing Long) in Four Symbols.

The Wu Xing are chiefly an ancient mnemonic device for systems with 5 stages; hence the preferred translation of "tree" over "wood".

Federal Police (Austria)

The Federal Police (German: Bundespolizei) is the law enforcement agency of Austria. The Austrian Federal Police were formed in July 2005 as one formal unit of police. Before 2005 the police system operated the Gendarmerie for most of the country, and the Polizei in the heavy city and urban areas such as Vienna, Salzburg and Graz. In 2004 it was agreed by the Government of Austria that these two police forces, along with the criminal investigation service, the public security constabulary, and the security authorities, would all form together to become the 'Federal Police of Austria'. The Federal Police is also responsible for border control.

Command

The current command structure that the Bundespolizei operates is very simple. The Federal Police is commanded by Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior. The Ministry then delegates to the 9 State Police commands. Depending on the State command, the districts and cities are controlled by either a District Police Command or a City Police Command. These commands then operate through police stations throughout the Province.
