Socialist Workers Party (Algeria)

The Socialist Workers' Party (in French: Parti Socialiste des Travailleurs) is a political party in Algeria. Its views are similar to those of the reunified Fourth International. PST was founded in 1989 by the Revolutionary Communist Group (GCR).

The PST publishes El Khatwa. In the 17 May 2007 People's National Assembly elections, the party won 0.75% of the vote and no seats of 389 seats.

Spanish Socialist Workers' Party

The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (Spanish: Partido Socialista Obrero Español [parˈtiðo soθjaˈlista oˈβɾeɾo espaˈɲol]; better known by its initials, PSOE [peˈsoe]), is a social-democraticpolitical party in Spain.

PSOE ruled in democratic Spain between 1982 and 1996, and between 2004 and 2011. It is the current oldest party in Spanish history.

The party, under Felipe González, formed a majority government after its victory in the 1982 election which lasted until 1993, after which it formed a minority government until 1996. PSOE has had strong ties with the General Union of Workers (UGT), a Spanish trade union. For decades, UGT membership was a requirement for PSOE membership. However, since the 1980s, UGT has frequently criticized the economic policies of PSOE, even calling for a general strike on 14 December 1988.

PSOE was last in government between 2004 and 2011 under José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. The PSOE is a member of the Party of European Socialists, Progressive Alliance and the Socialist International. In the European Parliament, PSOE's 14 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) sit in the Socialists and Democrats European parliamentary group.

Socialist Workers' Party (Argentina)

The Socialist Workers' Party (Spanish: Partido de los Trabajadores Socialistas, PTS), previously known as the Workers Party for Socialism (Partido de Trabajadores por el Socialismo), is a Trotskyist (left-wing revolutionary socialist) political party in Argentina. It was founded in 1988, as the first schism of the Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) (a Trotskyist party led by Nahuel Moreno until his death). Within the next 4 years, the MAS would split in more than 20 groups.

In the presidential election of 2007 it had obtained 95,000 votes (0,57%). The number of voters for this party in 2003's parliamentary election was 42,331 (about 0.25%). In the 1999's presidential election the party had obtained 43,911 votes (about 0.23%).

PTS is the Argentine section of Trotskyist Fraction – Fourth International.

It is participating in the Workers' Left Front. It has one national deputy, Nicolás del Caño, current or recent provincial deputies include Christian Castillo, Raúl Godoy and Laura Vilches.

Workers' Party (Bahamas)

The Workers' Party was a minor political party in the Bahamas. It contested the 1982 elections, in which it received only 31 votes and failed to win a seat.

Workers' Party (in Spanish: Partido de los Trabajadores) is a communist political party which operates in Spain. It was founded in 1979 through the merger of the Party of Labour of Spain (PTE) and the Workers Revolutionary Organisation (ORT).

The Catalan branch of PT was known as Partit dels Treballadors de Catalunya (Workers' Party of Catalonia). It published Yesca.

The old PT was short-lived. In 1980 a severe internal crisis erupted, and the party last contested elections in 1987.

In February 2009 it was refunded and reactivated, becoming an active political organization again.

Workers' Party (Czech Republic)

Workers' Party of Social Justice (Czech: Dělnická strana sociální spravedlnosti) is a Czech political party, often described as the major far-right extremist party in the Czech Republic. The party is not represented in any legislative body in the Czech Republic and its biggest electoral success so far has been a gain of 1,14% in the Czech legislative election in 2010. Some of the high-ranking party officials, including a Prague party leader, have been associated with neo-nazi groups such as Národní odpor, Czech subsidiary of international militant neo-nazi group. In spring 2009 the petition for the ban of the party was dismissed by the Czech Supreme Administrative Court, because, as the presiding judge stated, the applicant (Czech government) didn't manage to provide sufficient evidence in what was seen as a botched application. Following violent attacks against Czech minorities by far-right extremists (such as Vítkov arson attack of 2009), and the government has filled a more detailed petition for the ban, which was discussed by Czech Supreme Court in January and February 2010. The party was banned, making it the first instance of banning a party for its ideology in the modern history of the Czech Republic. The party was transformed into a "Party of Citizens of the Czech Republic" and the party was renamed to Workers' Party of Social Justice. Title amended and the program kept the same with small adjustments.
