With Me (Sum 41 song)

"With Me" is the third single from Sum 41's 2007 studio album Underclass Hero. The first live performance of "With Me" was on January 26, 2008 at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. On February 4, Sum 41 announced that they had filmed the video for "With Me", and the song was later featured on Season 1, Episode 7 of Gossip Girl. The song was featured on the commercial for the 2009 Fox series More to Love. The song was ranked first in the Canadian Singles Chart.

Music video

The music video was released on the band's MySpace page on February 28. The band announced that the video was shot near Toronto, Ontario. It starts off with Deryck Whibley playing an acoustic guitar as shots show around the house he is playing in. There are many shots of pictures and people (including one of the Shriners). Each of these people has different uses for pictures and photos (e.g. the old man uses his pictures to remember his old days in the army and the young couple use them to take photos of themselves together). There is then shots of Deryck, Cone, and Steve Jocz playing in a room where they play the chorus of the song; they then use this room to play the rest of the song in. We then learn more about the people and why their pictures are so important to them. More is revealed about them as the second verse goes on. Then, just before the second chorus, a framed picture with a moving image of Deryck walking is shown. As Deryck walks, the environment behind him changes rapidly showing many different places. After this, the song goes back to being acoustic for 8 bars. During this, Deryck is shown playing his acoustic guitar again. Also, the people in the house begin to freeze frame and turn into framed pictures of themselves. The song then continues and ends. The video shows the many aspects of the song.

Underclass Hero

Underclass Hero is the fourth studio album by the Canadian band Sum 41. It is the first album by the band not to feature former guitarist Dave Baksh since he left a year early to focus on Brown Brigade and is also the first recorded as a trio. The album was first released July 18, 2007 in Japan. It was released under the Island Records label and distributed worldwide by Universal Records, by Aquarius Records. The album cover features a photo with singer Deryck Whibley spitting. This album features more alternative rock songs than their previous albums. The album's lyrics have been described as more mature and personal than in some of the band's previous records. It was written as a concept album focusing on lead vocalist Deryck Whibley's outlook on life, covering subjects such as politics, atheism and family life. The album has more of a pop punk sound in comparison to the alternative metal style of their last album, Chuck.

The album was a commercial success, peaking at number 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart and at number 7 on the U.S. Billboard 200. It received generally mixed reviews from critics, with some critics praising its mature subject matter and style, while others criticized it for being unoriginal. The album would become the band's last release for four years until 2011's Screaming Bloody Murder. It is also Sum 41's last release on Aquarius.

With Me (Lonestar song)

"With Me" is a song written by Brett James and Troy Verges, and recorded by American country music group Lonestar. It was released in August 2001 as the second single from their album I'm Already There. It peaked at number 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

The music video features video clips from the bands touring, and was directed by Keech Rainwater, who is also one of the members of the band.

Slip (cricket)

In the sport of cricket, a slip fielder (collectively, a slip cordon or the slips) is placed behind the batsman on the off side of the field. They are placed with the aim of catching an edged ball which is beyond the wicket-keeper's reach. Many teams employ two or three slips (numbered from the slip fielder closest to the wicket-keeper: first slip, second slip, etc.). A floating slip is sometimes employed, usually in limited over games, who patrols an area in the slip cordon that would ordinarily be occupied by more than one fielder. The slip cordon's distance from the batsman increases with the pace of the bowler; generally they will be marginally further away from the batsman than the wicketkeeper is. Because of the resulting geometry, spin bowlers generally have fewer slips in the cordon than a fast bowler would in an equivalent game situation. As fielding in the slips requires quick reflexes and sure hands, usually the most adept catchers in the team will make up the slip cordon. Most slip fielders are top order batsmen. Specialist slip fielders are sometimes called "slippers".

Induction motor

An induction or asynchronous motor is an AC electric motor in which the electric current in the rotor needed to produce torque is obtained by electromagnetic induction from the magnetic field of the stator winding. An induction motor therefore does not require mechanical commutation, separate-excitation or self-excitation for all or part of the energy transferred from stator to rotor, as in universal, DC and large synchronous motors. An induction motor's rotor can be either wound type or squirrel-cage type.

Three-phase squirrel-cage induction motors are widely used in industrial drives because they are rugged, reliable and economical. Single-phase induction motors are used extensively for smaller loads, such as household appliances like fans. Although traditionally used in fixed-speed service, induction motors are increasingly being used with variable-frequency drives (VFDs) in variable-speed service. VFDs offer especially important energy savings opportunities for existing and prospective induction motors in variable-torque centrifugal fan, pump and compressor load applications. Squirrel cage induction motors are very widely used in both fixed-speed and variable-frequency drive (VFD) applications. In telecommunications, a slip is a positional displacement in a sequence of transmitted symbols that causes the loss or insertion of one or more symbols. Slips are usually caused by inadequate synchronization of the two clocks controlling the transmission or by poor reception of the signal.

Predators (film)

Predators is a 2010 American science fiction action film directed by Nimród Antal and starring Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo, Mahershala Ali, Oleg Taktarov and Louis Ozawa Changchien. It was distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is the third installment of the Predator franchise, following Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990), while ignoring the events of the crossover films Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007).

The film follows an ensemble cast of characters including Royce (Adrien Brody), a mercenary who appears in an unidentified jungle among other murderers and otherwise undesirable people. They find that they have been abducted and placed on a planet which acts as a game reserve for two warring tribes of extraterrestrial killers, and actively look for a way to return to Earth.

Producer Robert Rodriguez had developed a script as early as 1994, although it was not until 2009 that 20th Century Fox greenlit the project. According to Rodriguez, the title Predators is an allusion to the second film in the Alien franchise, Aliens (1986). The title also has a double meaning, referring both to the extraterrestrial Predator creatures and to the group of human characters who are pitted against them.Principal photography for Predators began on September 28, 2009 and concluded after 53 days; filming took place in Hawaii and then in Austin, Texas.
