The Vision (magazine)

The Vision is a monthly magazine published by the spiritual center Anandashram, in Kanhangad, India. The magazine was founded by Swami Ramdas in 1933. It publishes his teachings, as well as those of his center co-founders Mother Krishnabai, Swami Satchidananda, and other Indian spiritual teachers.

Andrew Wade

Andrew Robert Wade (born August 4, 1984) is an American recording engineer and music producer.

Early years and A Wish for Marilynne (2002–2006)

I wanted a name to go with our style but I didn’t want people to hear the name and say “Oh they’re Christian they’re no good” so I came up with a somewhat neutral name that matched our style.

In August 2002, Wade started playing guitar and singing lead vocals in Christian rock/emo band A Wish for Marilynne. By September 2003, the band had written seven songs, three of which made it on to a demo tape, that was recorded four months prior. In an interview with the Ocala Star-Banner the band said that once they had ten songs they were going to start recording, and Wade said "it's (going to) be a lot better than the demo." By this point, the group had performed a total of twelve shows. The band started recording their album,Poetic Chaos, at Wade's The Wade Studio on May 10, 2004, with a projected release date of June.

In June, the band were booking dates for a summer tour with bands A Midnight and May and There for Tomorrow. The band performed at Easy Street in Ocala, Florida on June 3 with bands Starting Over and A Day to Remember, and at The Masquerade in Ocala, Florida on June 20 with bands Inkblot (Cornerstone '04), Vindicated Youth, and Knox Overstreet. In August, the band said on their website that the album would "be ready by the end of summer". Song songs were uploaded to the band's PureVolume account. In December, the band announced recording had finished and release was soon to follow. In February 2005, the band announced that the album, Poetic Chaos, was to be released on March 18. A release show was held Central Christian Church on the same day, featuring bands There For Tomorrow, A Day to Remember, and Starting Over. Song previews were also made available on the band's MySpace account. In early 2006, the band announced they were no longer together.

The Vision (film)

The Vision is a British television movie which had its first showing on 9 January 1988 on BBC1. The film was written by William Nicholson and directed by Norman Stone. It starred Dirk Bogarde and Helena Bonham Carter. It was episode 1 of the fourth series of Screen Two.

Filming locations included The Exchange, Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff, South Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom. The film was the main feature on the front cover of the Radio Times when it was first shown.

Plot

A sinister cult uses a new television station to create a new European order. Dirk Bogarde plays a has-been UK TV personality hired to front the organisation but grows uneasy about its aims. At the end of the film, he attempts to warn the television audience about the dangers they face during the station's first transmission. But he fails to realise that recorded footage is being played during his "live" broadcast. He only realises when he is escorted from the studio by a stony-faced security guard and sees on the television monitors the (innocuous) beginning of his broadcast followed by a swift cut to his interviewer who thanks him for his contribution and then announces the showing of their first film, Back to the Future.

Israel (/ˈɪzreɪəl/ or /ˈɪzriːəl/; Hebrew: יִשְׂרָאֵל‎ Yisrā'el; Arabic: إِسْرَائِيل‎ Isrāʼīl), officially the State of Israel (Hebrew: מְדִינַת יִשְׂרָאֵל‎ Medīnat Yisrā'el [mediˈnat jisʁaˈʔel]; Arabic: دولة إِسْرَائِيل‎ Dawlat Isrāʼīl [dawlat ʔisraːˈʔiːl]), is a country in the Middle East, situated at the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea. It shares land borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan on the east, the Palestinian territories (which are claimed by the State of Palestine and are partially controlled by Israel) comprising the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the east and west, respectively, and Egypt to the southwest. It contains geographically diverse features within its relatively small area. Israel's financial and technology center is Tel Aviv, while Jerusalem is both its self-designated capital (unrecognised by the United Nations) and its most populous individual city under the country's governmental administration. Israel David Bascón Gigato (born 16 March 1987 in Utrera, Seville), known simply as Israel, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a right midfielder.

Club career

Betis

A product of Real Betis's youth system, Israel made his debut for the first team against Real Sociedad, on 16 March 2005 (nine minutes, 0–1 away loss). During the 2004–05 season he made a further seven La Liga appearances, adding three in the Spanish Cup, where he scored his first goal for the Andalusians, against CD Mirandés.

In the following campaign Israel played again in just eight matches, all but one as a substitute, while also appearing in both European competitions, coming from the bench against Liverpool and R.S.C. Anderlecht in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

During the 2006 off-season, in August, vastly underplayed at Betis due to the presence of Joaquín in his position, Israel spent time at Chelsea on trial after a move to Real Madrid Castilla failed to materialise. His trial was unsuccessful, however, and the player then left for Mérida UD on a loan deal.

Land of Israel

The Land of Israel (Hebrew: אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל ʼÉreṣ Yiśrāʼēl, Eretz Yisrael) is one of several names for an area of indefinite geographical extension in the Southern Levant. Related biblical, religious and historical English terms include the Land of Canaan, the Promised Land, the Holy Land, and Palestine (q.v. Israel (disambiguation)). The definitions of the limits of this territory vary between passages in the Hebrew Bible, with specific mentions in Genesis 15, Exodus 23, Numbers 34 and Ezekiel 47. Nine times elsewhere in the Bible, the settled land is referred as "from Dan to Beersheba, and three times it is referred as "from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt” (1 Kings 8:65, 1 Chronicles 13:5 and 2 Chronicles 7:8).".

These biblical limits for the land differ from the borders of established historical Israelite and later Jewish kingdoms; over time these have included the United Kingdom of Israel, the two separated kingdoms of Israel (Samaria) and Judah, the Hasmonean Kingdom, and the Herodian Kingdom, which at their heights ruled lands with similar but not identical boundaries.
