Little Mountain (album)

Little Mountain is the third studio album from Said the Whale released March 6, 2012. The album, according to Vancouver Weekly, is "Said The Whale's most balanced offering yet" and is the first creation of the band that expands their horizons beyond talking about how much they love Vancouver (claimed to be a result of the band's first United States tour). "Heavy Ceiling" and "Loveless" both ranked in the top 30 of the Canadian Active Rock and Alternative Rock Charts, with the album itself reaching No. 19.

Little Mountain is a hill in the northeastern region of the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the border between Chardon Township in Geauga County and Concord Township in Lake County, with an elevation of 1,227 feet (374 m). Along with nearby Gildersleeve Mountain, Brown Mountain, and Thompson Ledges, it is located along the northern ridge of an extension of the Allegheny Plateau.

The first permanent settler arrived at Little Mountain in 1815. In the late 19th Century, a resort was located near the summit; it has been the location of various hotels, the first built in 1831, the last demolished in 1925. Among the resort's frequent visitors were James A. Garfield and John D. Rockefeller. A nearby settlement called Joice's Corners existed briefly during the time of the resort.

Nearby Holden Arboretum provides tours of Little Mountain, whose access is otherwise restricted, and owns much of the land encompassing it.

Little Mountain (British Columbia)

Little Mountain, elev. 127m, is a mountain in the central part of the city of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is best known as the location of Queen Elizabeth Park and Nat Bailey Stadium, but as a name is also used for the surrounding neighbourhood and, occasionally, in the name of electoral districts (e.g. Vancouver-Little Mountain, which is defunct).

Little Mountain is a volcanic formation which was at one time mined for its granitic basalts. The old quarry on the mountain is now a public garden, Queen Elizabeth Park, which also features the Bloedel Floral Conservatory — a large geodesic domed structure that houses an extensive indoor tropical garden — home to a variety of exotic birds, fish and small mammals.
