Don Caballero 2 is the second studio album by the math rock band Don Caballero. It was released in 1995 on Touch and Go Records. The album is the group's longest, clocking in at almost one hour in length.
The album suffers consistently from a misreading of the tracklisting on internet sources whereby "Dick Suffers..." and "Cold Knees" are switched in the order with "P,P,P,Pantless" and "Repeat Defender". However on careful examination of the CD booklet, the tracklisting is divided into 4 sections (I "Stupid Puma" & "please tokio...", II "P,P,P Pantless" & "Repeat Defender", III "Dick Suffers..." & "Cold Knees", IIII "Rollerblade..." & "No One Gives...") The tracklisting on Touch & Go's website compounds the confusion by offering the song "Cold Knees" for listening but naming it as "Repeat Defender".
Don Caballero is an American math rock group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. The group took their name from the character Guy Caballero, portrayed by Joe Flaherty, on the sketch comedy show Second City Television. In SCTV's parody of the film The Godfather, Guy Caballero is called "Don Caballero".
Don Caballero (affectionately called "Don Cab" or "The Don" by fans) formed in the summer of 1991, released five albums on Touch and Go Records between 1993 and 2000, then disbanded in November 2000. Drummer Damon Che recruited new personnel for a reconstituted Don Caballero in 2003 which has released two albums, World Class Listening Problem and Punkgasm on Relapse Records.
The group's original lineup consisted of Damon Che (drums), Mike Banfield (guitars), and Pat Morris (bass guitar). The members of Don Caballero originally intended to draft a singer and a second guitarist to join the group. However, their early rehearsals generated such interest that the trio was offered paying gigs and decided to remain instrumental.
