On Fire!

On Fire! is the tenth studio album of the Christian rock band, Petra. It was released in 1988 by StarSong.

The songs of this album are in the Hard rock category. The lyrics continue the theme of spiritual warfare featured in their previous efforts, with metaphors making reference to military subtexts ("Mine Field", "Defector"). The band also tackles issues such as homelessness ("Homeless Few") and other personal and social issues.

This is the first album to feature Ronny Cates on bass who would remain with the band until 1995. With his addition to the line-up, the band started their more stable period in terms of line-up. Schlitt, Hartman, Cates, Lawry and Weaver would remain together for seven years and six albums.

On Fire (EP)

The On Fire EP is an EP by Alec Empire, released on December 7, 2007, from his album The Golden Foretaste of Heaven. It contains the title track, several remixes and all tracks from the single "Robot L.O.V.E.", previously issued on vinyl. Initially planned as a four-track digital download only release, it was also released as a ten track limited edition CD mounted on blue plexi-glass and sealed in a silver see-through plastic bag.

The song

"On Fire" first materialised as a b-side to the single "Gotta Get Out", from Empire's 2005 album Futurist. The track that appears on The Golden Foretaste of Heaven is a re-produced version sub-titled "The Hellish Vortex Sessions".

On Fire (Lil Wayne song)

"On Fire" is a song performed by rapper Lil Wayne. The song is taken from Lil Wayne's seventh studio album Rebirth. It was released as the album's second single on December 3, 2009.

Background

The song contains allusions from Amy Holland's song "She's on Fire" and was inspired in its entirety by Scarface.

Music video

The music video was shot on December 10, 2009 by Chris Robinson. It was released on January 6, 2010. The music video begins with a shot of a mansion that is overlooked by storm clouds, to set the mood of the music video in a darker tone. A lady is then shown sitting on the lawn holding a white rabbit that quickly changes to a black rabbit. A black feather then drops on the ground giving a loud thud to were the video then cuts to Lil Wayne for the first time sitting down with his guitar alone in a room filled with recording equipment. Wayne gets up to start a recorder and starts to play his guitar which causes the music to start playing in the video. The scene then cuts back and forth to Lil Wayne entering a party filled with women. Wayne then starts to flirt with a lady who is shown as a dark angel with black wings and is shown sparking every time Lil Wayne touches her. Wayne is then shown performing with a rock group to the song with clips of the dark angel dancing. In a seductive scene, Wayne is shown lying down shirtless while the dark angel caresses his body and clips of a snake hissing at the camera interfere with the scene. Small clips of Birdman are then shown as the music video ends with Lil Wayne sitting back down with his guitar, alone in the room from the first scene. Also, Mariah Watchman is featured in this video.

Fire (Ohio Players song)

"Fire" is a hit song by R&B/funk band Ohio Players. The song was the opening track from the album of the same name and hit #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 (where it was succeeded by Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good") and the Hot Soul Singles chart in early 1975. It spent five weeks atop the soul chart. "Fire" was the Ohio Players' only entry on the new disco/dance chart, where it peaked at #10. The tune is considered to be the band's signature song along with "Love Rollercoaster."

The song was recorded at Mercury Records' Chicago-based studio. While performing it in California, the band let Stevie Wonder hear the basic track for the song and he predicted that it would become a big hit. The song is noted for its sound of a siren recorded from a fire truck, heard at the beginning, as well as in the instrumental break in the middle. The edit version avoided much of the repetition of the music.

A cover of the song was released by Canadian New Wave band Platinum Blonde on their third album Contact in 1987. Another cover, also from 1987, is featured on the album Rhythm Killers by Sly and Robbie, produced by Bill Laswell. For their 2014 album For the Love of Money, industrial hip hop outfit Tackhead covered the song.

Fire 000 is an Australian observational documentary series that is now airing on the Nine Network on 7 May 2008.

Fire 000 follows the fire officer operations of the New South Wales Fire Brigade.

States of Austria

Austria is a federal republic made up of nine states, known in German as Länder (singular Land). Since Land is also the German word for "country", the term Bundesländer ("federation states"; singular Bundesland) is often used instead to avoid ambiguity. The Constitution of Austria uses both terms. In English, the term (Bundes)land is commonly rendered as "state" or "province".

Geography

The majority of the land area in the states of Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Vienna, and Burgenland is situated in the Danube valley and thus consists almost completely of accessible and easily arable terrain. The other five states, in contrast, are located in the Alps and thus are comparatively unsuitable for agriculture. Their terrain is also relatively unfavourable to heavy industry and long-distance trade. Accordingly, the population of what now is the Republic of Austria has been concentrated in the former four states since prehistoric times. Austria's most densely populated state is the city-state of Vienna, the heart of what is Austria's only metropolitan area. Lower Austria ranks fourth with regard to population density even though containing Vienna's suburbs; this is due to large areas of land being predominantly agricultural. The alpine state of Tyrol, the less alpine but geographically more remote state of Carinthia, and the non-alpine but near-exclusively agricultural state of Burgenland are Austria's least densely populated states. The wealthy alpine state of Vorarlberg is something of an anomaly due to its small size, isolated location and distinct alemanic culture.

Australia is a federation consisting of six states, three federal territories and seven external territories. The Australian mainland consists of five of the six federated states (with the sixth state, Tasmania, being located on an island in close proximity to the mainland) and three federal territories (including the small, somewhat anomalous Jervis Bay Territory) which constitute the world's sixth-largest country by total area. In addition, there are six island territories, known as external territories. Three of the external territories are inhabited, and the other three, besides non-permanent scientists, are uninhabited. Australia additionally claims part of Antarctica as the Australian Antarctic Territory.
