Chetan Joshi is an Indian short story writer and a novelist. His debut book Blind Man's Buff was highly praised by David Crystal, Author, The Cambridge Encyclopedia Of The English Language. His graphic book Animal Palette was published in November 2011. It was nominated for the Comic-Con Awards 2012.
A former software engineer, Joshi writes in a number of genres and forms including short stories, scripts for television serials such as C.I.D., and animation.
His latest book Literally Yours is a collaborative creation with Bangalore-based writer Asha Francis.
Chetan Joshi is a noted flautist in the Hindustani Classical Music tradition and also the former Senior Headmaster of Delhi Public School, Bokaro. He was born in Jharia and brought up at Noamundi and Bokaro Steel City. He trained under Acharya Jagadish, Bholanath Prasanna, Raghunath Seth and Ajoy Chakravorty.
He has been awarded with Rajakiya Sanskritik Samman (State honor) by the Government of Jharkhand. He has also been awarded Sur Mani, Bismillah Samman and many other awards.
As one of the leading classical instrumentalists from Jharkhand Chetan Joshi has performed in various concerts over the last fifteen years. In 2003 he performed in the cultural fest. organised by the Govt. of Jharkhand on World Music day.
He gave his performance along with a Japanese artist for a programme named Venu Naad (sound of flute) in a series of concerts organised in the first and second week of December 2004 in places like Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ranchi, Petarwar, Bhelatand, Munger and Kolkata. His other performances include one at XLRI at Jamshedpur for Spicmacay in 2006, at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati in 2008 and at IIM Ranchi in 2012
