Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE), formerly the Canadian National Stock Exchange (CNSX), is an alternative stock exchange in Canada. It was the first full stock market to be approved by the Ontario Securities Commission in the past 70 years. The CSE offers simplified reporting requirements and reduced barriers to listing. It is an alternative for micro cap and emerging companies. It had been known as CNQ until the organization re-branded itself in November 2008. It is fully automated, rather than using the traditional "open outcry" physical trading floor system.
The CSE is located in Toronto, Ontario and maintains a branch office in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In September 2007 CNSX introduced a service called Pure Trading, an electronic communication network where most of the stocks listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange can be traded.
In February 2015, the CSE Composite Index was launched as a broad indicator of market activity for the CSE. With approximately 75% coverage of all equities listed on the CSE it is a uniquely positioned to gauge the Canadian small cap market. The index provides a distinctly different risk/return profile than the broad Canadian equity market.
AMD Cool'n'Quiet is a CPU dynamic frequency scaling and power saving technology introduced by AMD with its Athlon 64 processor line. It works by reducing the processor's clock rate and voltage when the processor is idle. The aim of this technology is to reduce overall power consumption and lower heat generation, allowing for slower (thus quieter) cooling fan operation. The objectives of cooler and quieter result in the name Cool'n'Quiet. The technology is similar to Intel's SpeedStep and AMD's own PowerNow!, which were developed with the aim of increasing laptop battery life by reducing power consumption.
Due to their different usage, Cool'n'Quiet refers to desktop and server chips, while PowerNow! is used for mobile chips; the technologies are similar but not identical. This technology was also introduced on "e-stepping" Opterons, however it is called Optimized Power Management, which is essentially a re-tooled Cool'n'Quiet scheme designed to work with registered memory.
Cool'n'Quiet is fully supported in the Linux kernel from version 2.6.18 onward (using the powernow-k8 driver) and FreeBSD from 6.0-CURRENT onward.
Centrally located in the world-renowned Niagara Region, the Niagara Central (Dorothy Rungeling) Airport is a Registered aerodrome operated by a Commission. In July, 2012, the Niagara Central Airport came under the management of David Devine after a public RFP (request for proposal) process that began in 2011. In 2012, a new wheelchair accessible Administration Office was placed adjacent to the main hangar. Airport operations are handled through this building, which houses the manager's office, a meeting/common room, special events kitchen, patio deck, and utility rooms. The building was donated by Adrian and Hortense Verburg. In January 2015, the airport Commission, and subsequently the municipal councils, approved a process to move forward with a renaming of the airport to the Niagara Central Dorothy Rungeling Airport, in honour of the contributions Mrs. Rungeling has made to aviation in Canada. Mrs. Rungeling is a centenarian resident of Pelham. The Private Members Bill was passed unanimously at Queens Park by all parties after the third reading on June 4th, 2015.
