Celebrate 50 Years with the Museum and explore the rich heritage of a rural Southern Arizona town.

The Casa Grande Valley Historical Society was founded in 1964 to preserve and exhibit the history of the Casa Grande region. In 2014 we will celebrate 50 years of preserving the history and heritage of Casa Grande! We invite you to explore the museum with family and friends and experience the early days of Arizona mining, transportation, agriculture, and pioneers.

In 2010 the Casa Grande Valley Historical Society Museum was awarded the El Merito award by the Museum Association of Arizona in recognition of outstanding volunteer service. The museum was founded by volunteers and continues to be operated primarily by the work and dedication of volunteers at all levels of leadership and service. The Museum has recently been nominated for the 2014 IMLS National Medal for Museum and Library Service. We are honored to be recognized as a leader in preservation and community support for the Casa Grande region.

Exhibits at the museum reflect the history of pioneers that settled in the region during the expansion of the railroad and the mining industry, the progress of the agricultural industry, public safety, southwest lifestyles, pre-historic artifacts, local culture, and more.  Special events and programs include Night at the Museum, Hot Wings for History, a Speaker Series, public programs, and seasonal exhibits.  We also offer guided tours, fieldtrips for youth and students, and access to research materials by appointment.
