4th of July Fireworks & Festivities

The 4th of July Fireworks display here in Paris Texas will be at PJC’s Noyes Stadium on July 3rd. There will be a lot going on: The oldest Municipal Band in Texas will play patriotic music before the event Listen to the MC Watch the skydivers grace the stadium Star Spangled Banner Concessions available Tattoos for children available Boy Scout troop to present the colors and lower the flag Bucket Brigade Feel free to bring lawn chairs. The show is set to start around 8:30 or 9pm. It will last 12 minutes, and you need to show up early! Parking will be hard to come by if you show up late.

Celebrate America Parade

The Celebrate America Parade is set for this Saturday morning July 2nd. Make sure you show up long before 10, so that you can set up your lawn chairs or find a free space to sit with your family. The downtown area can get pretty full, and different roads will be closed off. The parade will start at the Courthouse, then travel its route around the Plaza, on to Clarksville, on to Lamar, and back downtown near the Courthouse. There will be music and dancing, bike riders, local beauty pageant winners, many floats, and much much more. Don’t miss the Parade!

Laugh Out with Latinos Comedy Event

Friday night July 1st here in Paris, you need to come out for LOL or “Laugh Out with Latinos” at Crosswire. The line-up is all Latino Comedians, and headliner is James Ponce, with Jesse Pangelinan and MC Josh Cabaza. “I met James after he came out to see one of my shows in Dallas, and I thought this guy was funny. Later our paths crossed again and I watched his show, and I think he is one of the funniest guys working today” said Daryl Felsberg of LMAO Comedy. Ponce finished shooting “Amounting to Nothing” and was a finalist in the “Funniest Person in Texas” competition. Jesse Pangelinan has done stand-up comedy for over ten years. This Friday night, Butch Hancock will be playing a set at That Guy’s Coffee in downtown Paris. His style of music has been described as acoustic country with some harmonica playing thrown in.
