Why did you enter your local/state competition?
The Miss California USA pageant champions many social issues that I have keen affinities toward. Through my state pageant I was afforded the opportunity to assist and develop strategies to further these causes.

Name one personal accomplishment (in addition to being a State
Titleholder) that makes you especially proud.
I teach a creative writing class for children at my church in South Central, Los Angeles. They are learning to be proactive individuals in their communities through the conduit of self-expression. These children defy negative sterotypes of the inner-city with every word they write.
List any special training you have had (Music/Drama/Art, etc.)

What do you think is the most difficult challenge females face today?
Women are still trying to penetrate the "glass ceiling" in education, politics, sports, and the job market.
What charity/charities have you supported with your time and/or
resources over past two years?
Komen "Race For the Cure" Los Angeles: this past year, with the help of the Miss California USA organization, I raised nearly two thousand dollars for this foundation. I also walked in the Pasadena 5K run/walk race in November at the Rose Bowl. NFL's Family Huddle: during this year's Super Bowl in San Diego, along with the San Diego Chargers' LaDamian Tomilson, I co-hosted this exciting event at LegoLand California. Becky's House San Diego: I visited with the homeless women in and out of this group home to facilitate dialogue so I can better understand their struggle for survival. California D.A.R.E. Program: I spoke during the official drug rally at Escondido City Hall before hundreds of children and numerous city and state officials.
