Rock legends Guns N’ Roses will return to India after more than a decade as part of their global tour, with a performance scheduled at Mumbai‘s Mahalaxmi Racecourse, BookMyShow Live has revealed.
The concert, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live in partnership with Live Nation, marks the “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “November Rain” band’s first appearance in the country since 2012.
The Mumbai show is part of a sprawling global tour that kicks off in Incheon, South Korea, before heading to Japan, India, the Middle East, and then an extensive European leg that includes stops in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, the U.K., and multiple eastern European countries. Various special guests will join different legs of the tour, including Public Enemy, Rival Sons, members of the Sex Pistols, including Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, and Frank Carter.
Guns N’ Roses, consisting of Axl Rose on vocals and piano, Slash on lead guitar, and Duff McKagan on bass, have sold over 100 million units worldwide. Their 1987 debut “Appetite for Destruction” remains the best-selling U.S. debut album ever, while their 2016-2019 “Not In This Lifetime… Tour” ranked as the fourth-highest grossing concert tour of all time.
“At BookMyShow Live, we’ve always been passionate about bringing world-class entertainment to Indian audiences and putting India on the global entertainment map,” said Anil Makhija, COO of live entertainment and Venues at BookMyShow. “Growing up, Guns N’ Roses was a huge part of my musical journey as well. The band defined an era of rock that continues to inspire generations.”
The band continues to maintain a strong streaming presence with approximately 24 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
The Mumbai concert will take place on May 17.
