Challenge #66: CREATURES!!

Welcome to another happy day at Use It Tuesday!

Our challenge this time is....
CREATURES

All creatures, big and small.
Ghosts, goblins and monsters if you're in the Halloween mood.
And if you're not, then bunnies, bears and bugs are okay too!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link up using Inlinkz by noon EST on Friday November 1, 2013. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE066 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here's the menagerie our Design Team rounded up for you this week:

Rachel leads us off with the king of the Sahara! This digi image was colored in pencils, a new technique she tried out. She used some scrap paper to make the card and added some gems, pearls and a sentiment stamp that have been in her stash for ages.

Valentina made this sweet owl treat holder with her silhouette cameo.  She gathered up old scrap paper pieces for this project and and also some "pretty old" ribbon.

Nicole documented a trip to a wildlife sanctuary with this pretty little layout. She challenged herself to get out some stashed stamp sets and use them, stamping them in three separate places on this project

Tammy skipped right past Halloween and moved on to Christmas! This ATC uses scraps and diecuts from her desk. The pearls and bling have been sitting pretty for awhile, waiting to be used. She also added some glossy accents to the bird.

Jessica A had some assistance with her background this week, from her young son. He's no hoarder, using bits and pieces from pretty much everything...including bits of packaging! The oldest thing he used has been in the leftovers bin for at least a year. Jessica then finished off the layout with pictures from their "Monsters University" movie date.

Tracy scrapbooked her favorite creature, her dog. The patterned papers she chose are newer to the "craft stash" (under a year), but those dog themed stickers have been around for about 5 years.

Jessica B kept it simple this week with this adorable card. She used this squirrel diecut and some Basic Grey paper that's "so old" it's single sided...probably about 4 years old now.

Michele's used this Cosmo Cricket bunny sticker that's been in her stash for 2 1/2 years. She paired it with some "Hello" washi tape that she won from the same company over a year ago.

And our Guest Designer this week is Ursula Uphof. Ursula used her hoarded flowers for this pretty little project. They tend to collect in her craft space, since she's taken to making her own with dies and punches. She also used some pretty mesh trim across the middle of her card. Thanks for playing again, Ursula!!

Thanks once again to our amazing Design Team!

Challenge #65: Scraps, Pieces, Odds & Ends

 Happy Tuesday, Friends!

There aren't many crafters who will claim that they don't have miles and piles of scraps in their stash.
Which makes it just perfect that this week's theme is
SCRAPS, PIECES, ODDS & ENDS.

Paper scraps, ribbon scraps, last button, end of the roll....it goes on and on.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Our Design Team had no shortage of scraps, pieces, odds and ends to share with  you this week. Here's what they all came up with for you:

Jessica A used stickers that were the last of a sticker sheet that's been hanging around for a year. The oldest things are the tiny brads, 3 years old. As well, this is the first time that border punch has been used, even though it's been around for the best part of six months!

Rachel raided her white and yellow cardstock scraps to make this 4 drawer easel card. She also found some brads collecting dust in her stash for the past few years that made a great addition to the project!

Tammy card uses a starburst background that was the last in the box she had purchased. The star brads were just hanging around on her craft desk, along with the scraps used for the banners. The stamp set also has never been used before!

Valentina is getting a headstart on this holiday season. She opened up her Christmas scraps from last year and found it was bursting at the seams! The little pieces were perfect to create these banners and stars. Quick and cute!

Nicole used scrap pieces as borders along the sides and bottom, as well as for the banner on top.  A bit of scrap ribbon made a simple bow to finish the card off.

Becky put this stamp by Fresh Squeezed Stamps on her "must have" list when it first came out, but then left it buried in her stash. She finally cracked the package for this beauty, stamping the images onto little scraps saved from The Pier collection.

Tracy started with a pile of scraps from this collection that she's had for over a year now and created this beautiful layout. She couldn't let those hexagons go to waste and it's a good thing she didn't!

Michele'shas a little bowl on her shelf where she keeps her odds and ends left over from projects or card kits. She dug into her bowl for this week's challenge and found the little button brads on this card, which were from a kit purchased 1 1/2 years ago.

Jessica B thought only small pieces made it to her scrap bin, so what was this large piece of adorably cute paper doing there? It has to be at least 4 years old, since she hasn't purchased baby paper in at least that long. She found just enough paper to cut those four butterflies out and accented them with pearls that are so beloved, they may cause a few tears once the package is empty.

Thanks to the Design Team this week for some great inspiration!!
Now, let's see what you have for us.

Challenge #64: Use Two Hoarded Items

It's Use It time!!

This week, you get to dig into your scrappy stash and come up with TWO hoarded items to use on your project. That's right, It's USE TWO week at Use it Tuesday.
Use two hoarded items on your project.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link up using Inlinkz by noon EST on Friday October 4, 2013. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE064 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Here are the beautiful projects the design team came up with this week:

Rachel found a digital stamp in her collection that she pulled up for this card. She also had a metal template for doing the fancy cutting that's never been used. It might go right back to the bottom of the crafty stash, since it was a bit difficult to use!

Becky has a stash of baker's twine she's been hoarding (and adding to) for quite awhile. She pulled some out to use on this week's layout. She also found the "Special Event' ticket in an antique shop a number of years ago.

Jessica A cheered up a friend's day with this happy card. The flower stickers and embroidery floss are both over the 3 year mark and quickly approaching their forth birthday!

Michele's super sweet card this week uses Pebbles Chips, chipboard pieces that she bought 2 years ago when she started scrapbooking again. She also used an American Crafts sentiment sticker from a book that has been severely under appreciated - only 7 of 58 stickers used so far!

Tracy is a Use It Tuesday over-achiever this week. Instead of two items, she went with three! The patterned papers have been in her stash for about 4 years, but they're not as old as the chipboard title or the felt butterfly, which are both closer to six-years-old.

Valentina made this gorgeous work of art this week to celebrate a golden anniversary. The paper doily on the front is VERY old and the flower bouquet for the inside of the book card is so old she can't even remember what it was recycled from! Beautiful!

Tammy pulled out one of her favorite things to hoard....Echo Park! This one is made from a mini-kit that's been waiting for love. She also found some Glitz Flare buttons that matched (lucky!). Oh, and don't forget the pictures...they're oldies by a few years too.

Jessica B practically gave herself a heart attack on this challenge, using a very beloved hoard. That flower paper, bought two years ago for a premium. But, the colors were a perfect match for this sweet picture, so she was determined to use it. The yellow shimmer paper as been in her scraps for about 3 years too.

And, Hilde is our Guest Designer this week. She used this origami shirt that she's been hoarding and a dress die-cut she got off of ebay. Of course, then she wasn't sure what to do with then. She finally decided on this his and hers congratulations card, making it work with scraps that matched the colors in the die cuts.

Super cute, Hilde!! Thanks for coming back to play with us again.

That's it for the Design Team today, but watch for more inspiration later this week on
our Facebook page. Come on by and give us a "like"!

Challenge #63: WINNERS!!!

We here at Use It Tuesday are blessed to have so many crafty friends, and we're glad you came by this week to find inspiration in our FRIENDSHIP challenge.

Our winner this week is Lyndal! She made this super cute "coffee and friends card" with some old papers that are - can you believe it - between 3 and 7 years old. Now that's digging to the bottom of your scrap pile!

Congrats, Lyndal! We sure hope you'll come back in a few weeks and be a Guest Designer on a future challenge. Don't forget to add this badge to your blog.

And, here are our picks for this weeks Top 2 honor.

Lizzie R's glimmered layout caught our eye. She used her stash of glimmer paint to splatter this colorful work of art. Love it!

And Lynne in NI made this adorable zombie card with some ribbon and paper from her stash. She also pulled out an old technique, using heat embossing that she hasn't done for awhile.

Congratulations to you both. Here is the Top 2 Pick badge for your blog.
Thanks for playing!!

We're back tomorrow with another opportunity to Use It.
We hope you find some time to join us.

Challenge #63: Friendship

Happy Tuesday! It's doubly happy, since this is one of Tuesday's this month we post a new challenge.
You ready, Users?

Most of the kids, young and old, have headed back to school now. While days of school work may not be their first interest, I'm sure everyone is excited to see their old friends, as well as making new ones.

So, this week at Use It Tuesday, we're celebrating FRIENDSHIP.

The Design Team has some fabulous projects this week:

First up is our newest Use It Tuesday Design Team friend. We recently had to say goodbye to one of our designers, so Michele agreed to step in for the rest of the term. Here's a little bit about Michelle:

Hi, my name is Michele and I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Stamping, scrapping and card making give me a much needed crafty break from my job as an engineer. I like to stamp and craft alongside my 3 year old daughter. I tend to prefer a more clean and simple style on my cards, but I like to layer up embellishments on my scrapbook layouts too. When I’m not crafting, I like to ski and read, and hangout with my husband and daughter.

Michele's project this week is an eye catching "Best of Friends" card using one of the "dozens" of My Mind's Eye die cut titles in her stash. This particular title is 2 years old. Great to have you here, Michele!

Rachel used a pre-scored card and old template to do the fold-back down the side of the card. She also used and old sentiment stamp and the corners were made with a template that has been around for a few years.

Becky made this friendly card with a sketch from a PageMaps book that hasn't been opened for over a year. The sentiment and cherries were from a stamp set bought last year and has sat mostly unused. She also found this ribbon in one of her 8 mason jars full of ribbon - if I kept my ribbon in beautiful mason jars, I think I'd have 8 of them too!!

Jessica A pulled papers and flowers from her stash to make this gorgeous layout. Aren't those flowers arranged beautifully? The green flowers and leaves, in particular, are from almost 4 years ago!

Valentina made this tag to celebrate friendship. She bought the Tim Holtz tag die a couple of years ago, but has never used the bookmark die cut that came with it. She used handmade chipboard and kraft paper, which she has alot of, since she loves the vintage/postal style used in this tag.

Tracy chose to scrap photos of one of her best friend's beautiful family in honor of this challenge. The pattern papers are at least 4 years old and the decorative ribbon came from her Grandmother's sewing box. How old do you think it might be?

Jessica B acknowledged the friendship between siblings with this pretty layout. The sibling themed paper has been hanging about her stash for around 3 years and the punch she used with the yellow paper has NEVER been used before (it's gorgeous!).

Tammy'slayout uses the SEI Poppy line of papers and embellishments, which has hung around for awhile. Plus, the pictures celebrating her "BFF" is from a scrapbook carnival 2 years ago. Time to get those pictures scrapped!

Nicole went desk hunting...picking a bunch of random supplies off her craft desk to create this adorably cute card. Everything on the card, with the exception of the stamps, has been in her stash for at least a year! Super cute!

And this week Use It Tuesday is lucky to have two guest Design Team members!

Alicia won our un-inked Stamp challenge a few weeks ago. She made this adorably cute House Mouse decoupage sheet, also including an old SU punch and even older brads! And, in keeping with her win theme from a few weeks ago, she even found an un-inked sentiment!

And Jane won one of our challenges a few months ago, but had to delay her Guest DT spot. We're glad she was finally able to join us this week. Jane made this beauty using "everything" hoarded. The K&Co papers are....can you believe it...10 years old!! The sentiments are from a HOTP booklet that has also been around for several years and the silhouette stamp was previously un-inked.

Thank you to both Alicia and Jane for joining us this week. Now, go Use It!
