We are excited to launch our inaugural #BNEFForum in Vancouver to put a spotlight on the role of critical minerals in the transition to a lower carbon economy. ⚡ Today's energy transition is a system-wide shift towards electrons playing a larger role across power, industry and transport. Greater electrification also means that global economy will rely more heavily on the role of critical minerals in meeting this increased demand for wind, solar, battery storage, EVs and grid. 📱 Agenda + Speakers: https://bloom.bg/3PCMMZ6 ⏰ Registrations are subject to approval. This event is in-person only, with no press in attendance.

"To work in clean energy and climate is to live in a constant state of cognitive dissonance, stuck between good news and bad. On the good side, every year brings continuous growth in clean-tech industries, record levels of investment, and steady technological advances. This past year was no different,” Albert Cheung, Deputy CEO, Head of Global Transition Analysis, BloombergNEF writes in his new analysis. What are the five key lessons we should carry forward as we start a new year in the energy transition? Find out on our blog, linked in the comments below. 👇

Passenger EV adoption in Latin America has historically been slow, largely due to high upfront costs - but things are changing. The arrival of affordable models from Chinese automakers like BYD is driving growth, with EV sales doubling year-on-year. 🚗 BloombergNEF analysis shows EVs now account for over 6% of new car sales in the region, up from just 2% two years ago indicating a promising shift toward a more sustainable future! 🔎 Read more in the blog in the comments. 👇 #CleanTransportation #EV #LatinAmerica

🔋🔋 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Prices See Largest Drop Since 2017, Falling to $115 per Kilowatt-Hour according to BloombergNEF annual price survey published yesterday by Evelina Stoikou and the BNEF Storage team 🔋🔋 Factors driving the decline include cell manufacturing overcapacity, economies of scale, low metal and component prices, adoption of lower-cost lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries, and a slowdown in electric vehicle sales growth. This figure represents a global average, with prices varying widely across different countries and application areas.
