“I am writing to confirm that I worked with Vicky Slade for several years at Countrywide Mortgage Services. Vicky was a hard working and successful consultant so much so that she progressed to Regional Manager and then Recruitment/Training Manager. I would have no hesitation in recommending Vicky for a job and would gladly have her back here at Countrywide Mortgage Services. Russell Yearworth FPC CeMAP Senior Mortgage Consultant.”

I can genuinely say that my school days were the happiest days of my life. I truly believed I could do anything, my views and actions made a difference and that no-one could stand in my way.
I remain inspired by many of my teachers and remember how so many went far beyond their remit, something I see now as a School Governor, former Cllr and parent.

Education really is the key to opportunity, and a failure of education cuts off the life chances of so many. This is why I chose to get involved as a business mentor with Young Enterprise Dorset, employed a number of young people as Apprentices and continue to volunteer across the educational sector, and campaign to ensure every child is taught by a qualified teacher. -

This Youth Centre is owned by the Borough of Poole but after significant budget cuts the Open Access service was withdrawn from Broadstone as it was suggested there was no need for youth support. I took on the Chairmanship of the committee in 2011 with the intention to reopen the service for the benefit of local children and in May 2012 we held our first session for 11-12yr old children having found enough volunteers and set up the initial terms programme.

The Thursday Club is now three years old, and has been providing a hang out for around 50 young people every session but it is now at a crossroads. Our volunteer leaders are moving on and we have committed the funding for a paid Youth Worker. To date we haven't had anyone suitable apply and there is a real risk the group will cease. I am being trained to run sessions but this isn't the solution and we fight on with Borough of Poole as we believe our children deserve the support of their local authority to prevent anti social behaviour and to support them in a safe place -

I am proud to have been elected chair of Broadstone Neighbourhood Watch following the retirement of Roy Godfrey.
I have been a member of the Watch for many years and attended committee meetings in my capacity as Ward Councillor until earlier this year. Roy has done an incredible job and has almost 100% coverage of the roads in our community and I hope to maintain this success but also increase the activity of the community speedwatch that was funded by the Watch. Roy has done an incredible job and has almost 100% coverage of the roads in our community and I hope to maintain this success but also increase the activity of the community speedwatch that was funded by the Watch. I have plenty of ideas to make Broadstone more people friendly, which will increase safety and - more importantly - the perception of safety and will listen carefully to the views of the committee and wider membership in the coming months. -
