A #sandbox for financial market infrastructures that is on track to launch in the UK this year has the potential to become a ‘catalyst of change’ towards the adoption of innovative technologies, an executive director of the Bank of England (BoE) said in a speech this week. The Digital Securities Sandbox (DSS), which will be overseen by the BoE alongside the Financial Conduct Authority, is being created to enable regulators to curate the take-up of #digitalasset #technology in #financialmarkets – a field seeing surging levels of private-sector investment. Fnality welcomes the publication of the BoE’s discussion paper on its approach to innovation in money and payments as a valuable vehicle to bring together various payments initiatives. We’re interested to see emerging BoE thinking on wholesale CBDC, and look forward to engaging the BoE given our shared goal to ensure the widespread use of central bank funds to support the digital assets and payments ecosystem. Paythru releases guiding principles EV payment specialist Paythru has published a proposed set of guiding principles aimed at greater collaboration among the payments sector, public charge point operators, and charge point management systems. The move has been undertaken by the firm to address current problems with the charging payment process. Shaped by its own research, and conversations with the industry around what drivers want. It is also backed by the Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology (REA), as part of its ongoing mission to accelerate the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
