I appreciate we have qualified for the knock-out stages of Euro 2024, but watching Gareth Southgate try to place square pegs into round holes got me thinking about YOUR Salesforce team 🫵 Imagine if you have: ⚽ Two of the most talented Salesforce Architects in Europe ⚽ An experienced, no nonsense Salesforce Developer, who won't let you down  ⚽ A reliable, experienced Project Manager who never fails to deliver ⚽ A Business Analyst who can drag a user story out of the stakeholders with the tightest defences ⚽ And a Salesforce Administrator there to support the team wherever they need help What would Gareth Southgate do? 🥅 Make the Project Manager work all day every day so they are burnt out.....but never take them off a project 🥅 Tell the Architects to act as Administrators, on the edges of the action 🥅 Ask your Business Analyst to be a Developer, and then throw them under the bus when it goes wrong 🚌 🥅 Give your Salesforce Administrator so much work to do that they look like a kid in a shopping centre that has lost their parents 😱 👇👇👇👇 So, next time you're considering a shake-up in your Salesforce team, don't be like Gareth. Q: What is behind Salesforce's Q1 revenue & forward guidance miss? In the QI earnings call, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff highlighted the company's position to gain from the artificial intelligence (AI) era, saying it's "the beginning of a massive opportunity for our customers to connect with their customers in a whole new way with AI." (source: Investopedia, public record). Summary of performance: 1) Salesforce shares fell 20% Thursday after the company released weaker-than-expected fiscal first-quarter results on Wednesday. 2) Analysts said broader macroeconomic challenges “returned with a vengeance” during Salesforce’s first quarter. 3) Despite the miss, many analysts are optimistic about how the company could benefit from its use of generative artificial intelligence. (source: CNBC). All five of SFDC's tech units contributed to revenue estimates, but Professional Services revenues were a miss in Q1. Salesforce is an AICX Institute Benchmark, and The Institute sees the Einstein Co-pilot as a long-term force to be reckoned with. Mark's phrase above, "...it's the beginning...", however, implies that realization of market share gains in the AI sector and payback for capital investments in both Einstein and the Data Cloud are still in the future.
