Barclays UK has issued two tranches of AUD 500 million subordinated bonds, including a fixed-to-floating rate bond offering a 6.158% annualized coupon for 5.5 years and a floating rate bond with a coupon of 3-month BBSW + 2.00%. Both bonds achieved significant oversubscription—AUD 2.95 billion and AUD 2.9 billion, respectively—resulting in scale-backs to 17%. Backed by a CET1 ratio of 13.8%, Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) of 170.1%, and Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) of 135.6%, Barclays underscores its strong risk management and funding stability. EBS eFix, CME Group's spot FX benchmark matching service, saw its second highest volume day on May 31 for end-of-month trading, with ~$24B matched in single count volumes. 65% of all 16:00 (UK time) orders were filled via eFix on May 31, with the fill rate climbing to nearly 80% for EUR/USD, which accounted for over 30% of all activity. Throughout 2024, eFix is witnessing strong growth with volumes up ~10% vs. the same period in 2023, amidst continued expansion of currency pairs and greater client adoption for a wider range of FX benchmark rates.
