The period has also seen sustainable growth in shareholder distributions, with £35m returned to shareholders in FY24 (vs £22m in FY23), comprising 33p total dividends per share (+10% vs FY23) and £13m through share buybacks. Today we are also pleased to see the 12th edition of ICG’s “Private Company Trends” report, authored by Nicholas Brooks. Based on data from companies across Europe and North America, the report uncovers the sector’s key trends and assess its outlook for the rest of 2024. It finds that the market’s performance has remained largely resilient in 2023 and the beginning of 2024, despite geopolitical instability and weak headline economic growth in Europe, therefore positioning itself as a relatively defensive sector.🛡️ This trend was largely driven by a healthy sales growth and a moderation in input cost inflation that stabilised margins. Prominent investment adviser Gary Black has raised serious concerns about the valuation of MicroStrategy Incorporated (MSTR), arguing that the stock of the company may in fact be significantly overpriced. In a recent post on X, Black, managing partner at The Future Fund LLC, expressed confusion after pointing out that the Bitcoin (BTC) holdings of MicroStrategy were valued at $31.2 billion at the time, with a net debt of $4.2 billion, resulting in an equity value of around $27 billion.
