“What happened to the sale of that new franchise?” “Err… they went and saw their accountant and we haven’t heard from them since!” Not an isolated experience. A lot accountants don’t really understand franchising. Some dislike it and actively discourage their clients from getting involved. But there are some that understand it and like it. We are one of those. If it’s a good deal, we’ll support it. But if it’s a dud, we won’t. (And you shouldn’t be trying to sell it anyway!) So, if you’d like to have your franchise prospects deal with someone who understands franchising, knows what to look for and won’t kill off your good deal, give me a shout. One common theme I hear from our potential new clients all the time is that they never get a proactive service from their accountant. Everything seems last minute and they scarcely get any advice. We listen to what they need and put together a proposal that's bespoke to them and is set up to give them the support they need and they have told me they're looking for. It's at that point some of them will say 'but I only pay my accountant £x, why are you more expensive?' They don't equate poor or minimal service with paying low fees. Everyone has a different budget and if you prefer to pay a low fee that's of course your choice, but that comes at a price which is usually that your accountant has no scope in that fee to offer any advice. Instead, if you're looking for a proactive service with a friendly team who like to support businesses then get in touch. We NEVER have that January self-assessment tax return rush with our clients. Our clients returns are submitted months in advance - and are all done. We ensure we have all of the necessary information available to us early. We're on top of it. We’re proactive accountants & Finance Directors. Talking about ideas.. good or bad 💭 Talking to a customer last week about ideas for their business development Now we manage their accounts, we don't run their business. We talk regularly so I know what their aims and goals are. However, I had an idea about their business that I wanted to share with them about their business. 💭 I want to see them succeed and grow to where there want to be, so I went through my idea with them. 💭 We talked about my business thoughts 💭 He listened to my ideas 💭 I explained, if my ideas and thoughts are a step to far.. tell me to shut up His response was awesome.... "No way, you tell me your ideas because they could be a shit idea but better than mine" A valuable lesson! Share your ideas because no matter how shit they are, they are better than no thoughts.

I'm concerned that a number of smart tech savvy accountants & bookkeepers are, like me, confused by the wording around the recent communication around price increases from Airwallex. One thing I know, is you need to tell your partner manager you want your AIRWALLEX account treated as a 'Partner' account. I've also been told, that you need to transfer $5K into and out of the account every month, if you want the newly introduced monthly fee to be waived, and you are not maintaining a $10K balance. Several people have told me they simply shut their #AirWallex accounts down. What are the alternatives? Wise ? #AccountingAndAccountants
