Talking about ideas.. good or bad 💭 Talking to a customer last week about ideas for their business development Now we manage their accounts, we don't run their business. We talk regularly so I know what their aims and goals are. However, I had an idea about their business that I wanted to share with them about their business. 💭 I want to see them succeed and grow to where there want to be, so I went through my idea with them. 💭 We talked about my business thoughts 💭 He listened to my ideas 💭 I explained, if my ideas and thoughts are a step to far.. tell me to shut up His response was awesome.... "No way, you tell me your ideas because they could be a shit idea but better than mine" A valuable lesson! Share your ideas because no matter how shit they are, they are better than no thoughts.

Last week I rekindled my passion for the SRA Accounts Rules! Yes I know, many of you are thinking “here she goes again” but someone’s got to do it! Here is what it’s all about; The SRA Accounts Rules state that an accountant’s report is required if at any time during an accounting period, the firm has: 1) Held or received client money 2) Operated a joint account 3) Client’s own account as signatory The SRA can also require a firm to obtain an accountant’s report with reasonable notice if they consider that is in the public interest to do so, or if the firm ceases to be an authorised body. An accountant’s report must be obtained within six months of the accounting period end date. If the accountants report is qualified and shows failures to comply with the account’s rules meaning that money belonging to clients or other third parties is or is likely to have been placed at risk, then the report must be filed with the SRA within six months of the period end date.
