In this week's highlights from companies on the Aquis Stock Exchange: ⚕ Ananda Developments Plc announced that it has raised gross proceeds of c.£2.15m through a placing and subscription.   ⛽ SulNOx Group PLC published its annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024, highlighting a company turnover of £544,000 which represents a 168% increase from the prior year.   🌐 Global Connectivity PLC announced its unaudited half year results for the six months ended 30 June 2024, with net assets increasing by £9.4m to £17.2m.   ☕ Cooks Coffee Company provided a trading update covering the Esquires Coffee UK and Esquires Coffee Ireland brand, highlighting a 32.4% increase in UK store sales, a 6.4%, in Ireland store sales, an expansion to 83 Group sites and the announcement that more than 10 further outlets are expected to open before the end of the financial year.   ⛏ Voyager Life plc announced that preparations to bring the Rost 1-26 well owned by M3 Helium Corp. into production are now well advanced, with sales of helium from the well expected to commence by the end of September.   🏢 ACE LIBERTY & STONE PLC announced its results for the year ended 30 April 2024, highlighting stable revenue and the underlying strength of assets despite a challenging year with significant headwinds felt across the property sector.   ⭐ Aquis Exchange announced its unaudited results for the six months ended 30 June 2024. Highlights included strategic progress across all divisions, a 3.5% increase in net revenue and further detail around an investment in its Technologies division to support the conversion of a growing, high-quality pipeline. 🐎 Newbury Racecourse plc reported a 16% increase in statutory turnover to £9.3m for the six months ended 30 June 2024. Make UK's Regional Manufacturing Report, released this July, indicates that the majority of UK regions have reported positive performance in terms of output, orders, investment and employment for the last 12 months. However, a unified industrial strategy will ensure uniformity across the country, encourage further stability and help address long-term sector issues such as the skills shortage. How are you finding the market for Construction Machinery? With "heavy lifting" starting to be taken over by machines and appearing on most sites around the UK, it still appears the economy is still having a huge effect on this! Finning, a major supplier of construction equipment to rental companies and big contractors, announced a Q1 year-on-year net revenue increase of 3% in the UK and Ireland. This was driven primarily by used equipment sales (which nearly doubled), while new equipment sales remained level. It’s likely that affordability is the main reason for contractors turning to used rather than new machines. Finning’s product support revenue was down by 7% over the quarter, due to a combination of lower customer activity levels and reduced machine utilization hours. If activity is down, contractors aren’t going to buy new machines, especially if existing equipment isn’t being used to its full potential.

A recent report reveals that over two billion tonnes of municipal solid waste are generated annually worldwide, with only 16% recycled. In the UK alone, 220 million tonnes of waste are produced each year. The Circular Economy shifts us from a 'take, make, dispose' model to a closed-loop system, where resources are reused, refurbished, and recycled. According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, transitioning to circularity could unlock £1.5 trillion in Europe by 2030.
