According to a recent report, AI is set to create 610,000 new jobs by 2028. Tech will take the lion’s share with 320,000 roles, while education and healthcare will see significant growth too—adding 190,000 and 90,000 positions, respectively. Of course, not all industries are thriving in the AI wave. Retail is projected to lose 240,000 jobs, which is a stark reminder that change always comes with its challenges. On the flip side, AI’s impact on productivity is jaw-dropping. Automating repetitive tasks could save businesses the equivalent of 2.88 million full-time jobs’ worth of time. For system admins alone, that’s up to 12.6 hours per week to focus on meaningful, strategic work instead of the mundane. The payment gateway Stripe migrated 1.5 PB of data into new shards. They used the following algorithm. 1. Mark data to be migrated 2. Bulk export data into new shards 3. Simultaneously, copy live data into new shards (async events) 4. Check data for correctness 5. Make clients point to new shards 6.
