    Education

During the summer of 2013 I held a workshop for school children (aged 12-14) aimed at engaging them in discussion about internet safety and behaviours surrounding social media, with materials sourced from recognised authorities on these subjects including CEOP etc. The workshop was well received by the participants who felt (along with their parents) that there was not enough discussion about this topic in schools.

Used to communicate the tremendous opportunities at Microsoft at campuses across the UK and online these were eye catching and comprehensive guides aimed at interns, graduates and apprentices. This year we also created brochures for the Eastern and Western European Teams for similar campus events across Europe. It's been an exciting and positive project with the audiences positively engaging with them.

In order to achieve this, Article 10 provided an illustrated and branded, travelling photo booth that journeyed between Microsoft campuses capturing messages of support from staff. With the ability to instantly share photos via social media, more than 300 were captured throughout the period, opening eyes to Microsoft’s decade long dedication to the cause. Our design team created a range of branded collateral for the day, including t-shirts, vuvuzelas, walking banners and stickers featuring significant LGBT figures including Caitlyn Jenner and Alan Turing, the latter proving very popular with Pride attendees. Among the messages of support, aligned with the event’s “PrideHeroes” hashtag, our internal branding team also included some subtle promotion for Windows 10, which is set to “come out” soon.

With 6 speakers a year and an opportunity to showcase talent it is a friendly place to make new connections, look for advice, gain insights, learn, feel inspired, energized and better connected with the world.

In 2013 the speakers included: Nina Grunfeld from Life Clubs; Zoe Burt Founder of Seeds of Fashion, Artist, Textile Designer and educator; Field Grey Founder and Creative Director Janice Turner; Artist and Author Polly Loxton; Google developer advocate Ian Barber and last but definitely not least Jessica Light - one of the last few remaining weavers designing and manufacturing in the UK.
