NHS trusts have some way to go on #digitalmaturity, the new snapshot report examining the Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA) scores of NHS trusts across England from Digital Health reveals. Out of seven success measures, ‘Ensure smart foundations’ emerged as the top-performing measure across all trusts, but with an average score of 3.2 out of five. Todays report from the Innovation Ecosystem Programme (IEP) outlines ways the NHS can further develop and implement innovations in healthcare. There is an opportunity to embed the report’s recommendations into the forthcoming 10-year health plan, they include: Building skills, capabilities and culture and unlocking time the help the NHS workforce prepare for future ways of working. Developing commercial approaches to share value and adoption in testing innovation. Building robust evaluations to assess the impact of innovations. We welcome the report and look forward to continued collaboration with colleagues across the East of England

We're pleased to see the publication of this report, which highlights the need for clearly defined national innovation priorities. Very interesting piece of research by the Patient Information Forum (PIF) and Ipsos UK. There are clear access challenges and inequalities in the provision of healthcare information, creating fertile ground for the spread of misinformation. In an era of personalised care and enhanced patient choice, healthcare information that is both available and trustworthy is vital to patients.

HTN - Health Tech News caught up with Julia Lake, associate director for digital (data) at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for a tour of their impressive data-led transformation. Towards the end, Julia made a revealing remark. We have teamed up with Ethical Healthcare Consulting to publish a new report ‘Frontline digitisation: creating the conditions for a digital NHS’ highlighting the issues faced by ICBs in implementing digital programs across the NHS. The report details what the NHS needs to make this work in the long-term including: - fewer core targets - flexibility - quality training and support for staff - more capital funding for digital infrastructure - longer-term, multi-year funding cycles.
