We have teamed up with Ipsos UK to publish new research into health information access across the UK. Knowledge is Power offers new insights on information access, trusted sources, communication with healthcare professionals and the impact of misinformation. The report reveals the demand for the NHS to signpost trusted information and wide support for the verification of health information. Knowledge is Power makes five recommendations on the right to health information. All recommendations are aligned with the three shifts proposed in the NHS 10-year plan. The report rightly highlights the need for a focus on clearly defined national health innovation priorities, incentivising the partnership working required to deliver innovation, and improved alignment and shared accountability for innovation adoption performance. Todays report from the Innovation Ecosystem Programme (IEP) outlines ways the NHS can further develop and implement innovations in healthcare. There is an opportunity to embed the report’s recommendations into the forthcoming 10-year health plan, they include: Building skills, capabilities and culture and unlocking time the help the NHS workforce prepare for future ways of working. Developing commercial approaches to share value and adoption in testing innovation. Building robust evaluations to assess the impact of innovations. We welcome the report and look forward to continued collaboration with colleagues across the East of England

NHS trusts have some way to go on #digitalmaturity, the new snapshot report examining the Digital Maturity Assessment (DMA) scores of NHS trusts across England from Digital Health reveals. Out of seven success measures, ‘Ensure smart foundations’ emerged as the top-performing measure across all trusts, but with an average score of 3.2 out of five. 📢 The data use register standard was published by the #UKHealthDataResearchAlliance in 2021, with the aim to improve transparency in the use of health data for research. Our Future Health UK, a member of the 'Alliance'. have published its first data use register, making it clear what data is being accessed, by whom and for what purpose. They were also one of 19 organisations awarded funding to implement the Alliance Transparency Standards, which aim to improve the clarity and accessibility of information about data access processes for the public and researchers. The recent Lord Darzi report recognises the NHS is in dire need of a #digitaltransformation. The report highlights how our nation’s health service is in the most perilous position since its inception in 1948. Core recommendations include a move from hospitals to community care, and a greater emphasis on prevention and training. Solutions offered include:  ✅️ The transition from analogue to a digital NHS   ✅️ Moving more care from hospitals to communities   ✅️ Focusing efforts on prevention over sickness    Reflecting on the simplicity of the original 1948 concept for a National Health Service, it places the family doctor as central to delivery. We believe #VR training for GPs and support staff is crucial in addressing the NHS training crisis. Here is an example of exactly that.
