Simple, Do the right thing, Be helpful,and Honest #IndustrialMARK #TheManufacturingAmbassador Lies The concept of “sales” is BS Only 18% of buyers trust salespeople, according to a survey of thousands of B2B buyers by the RAIN group. When I’ve dropped this stat before, I’ve heard lots of people say “I’m surprised it’s that high.” So why do we have this stereotype of the sleazy salesperson only interested in commission? It’s precisely because salespeople are taught they need to “sell”. The reality is buyers are 100% in control of their decisions, and they hate being pushed and cornered with sleazy tactics like:  Fake end-of-quarter discounts - this makes salespeople look desperate and devalues your products  Hidden lines in contracts related to contract lengths and renewals  Made-up statistics or fake case studies So what’s the alternative? Focus on guiding your customer to make the decision that’s in their best interest and:  Identify challenges they’re facing by asking good questions and being curious  Provide solutions to those challenges through stories NOT jargon OK that’s the basics but to build more trust:  Introduce them to other people who can help  Make useful content related to those challenges they can implement WITHOUT YOU  Send content that others have authored that’s also useful If you think this is nonsense, ask yourself this: Would you rather close a 50k deal that is not in your customer’s best interest so they don’t renew? OR Turn a customer down, send them to a competitor but make a friend for life who 2 years later gets promoted and buys a $300k contract off you? Play the game of life. The eternal game.

How much would it cost you to make £100k in new business? If your average order value (AOV) is £3k per month and you could sign them up for 12 months, then this is only 3 new customers... (£108k each year) My aim is to bring 3-5 qualified leads for my clients to sign up each month, I do this on a monthly retainer and work with them to decide who are the ideal targets. What is an acceptable net profit level for an SME? If you are a business owner and want to grow your company, then what is an acceptable profit level you should be working towards? The net profit return on sales for UK SMEs can vary significantly depending on the industry and size of the business. However, on average, UK SMEs typically see a net profit margin of around 9-10%. This means that for every £100,000 in sales, an SME might expect to make a profit of £9,000-£10,000. Different sectors can have different benchmarks. For example: ·   Manufacturing companies often have a net profit margin of around 7-8%. ·   Service companies might see higher margins, around 14-15%. Smaller companies (sub £1m T/O) tend to be lower than this at around 5%, as they establish themselves in the market. It’s important to note that these figures can and will fluctuate based on economic conditions, market competition, and operational efficiency. How does your profit compare?

If you can REALLY sell ("sell" sales & hire), if you REALLY get the buzz of the sale, if you REALLY don't mind the initial hard graft to win that customer & if you REALLY want to be rewarded & develop your career - we're looking (and always willing to add further) for First Class Sales staff. Senior Business Development Manager (England) For a First-Class salesperson, you need to be offering a First-Class package. So here goes. I'll start with the commission. Why? Because if you can REALLY sell, you'll be able to do the numbers, understand the benefit & see that everything else, whilst still very attractive, pales into insignificance. Commission on Hire: 10% net of hire income you bring / win above 10K per month. With our wide offering of Utility Kit such as Cats, Gennys, BA sets, Winches, Fusion equipment etc, through to Excavator Attachments such as Hydraulic Hammers / Peckers, Shears, Pulverisers & Selector Grabs, the potential numbers are substantial. You run the numbers... "I know I can be doing £20,000, £30,000 or even £40,000 a month hire in x period, wow - that's £1,000, £2,000 £3,000 a month (before income tax) for me". Commission on Excavator Attachment sales: 10% net of all Excavator Attachment sales you win / arrange. Sell a £40,000 Scrap Shear, you've got it - £4,000 (before income tax) for you. Or £800 when you sell a more regular £8,000 Pecker / Breaker, or £1,500 on a £15,000 Attachments package? Commission on Utility equipment sales: 10% of gross profit. For every £1,000 gross profit we make on Utility Equipment sales, you get £100 (before income tax). You'll know Utility equipment sells in volume & the numbers soon add up. Where’s the catch Chris? There isn’t one. There are common sense minimums for hire and sales (you're not selling a 40K Shear for 10K!), but our aggressive pricing allows you to fight hard on price - if needed (however it’s not a race to the bottom). The rest of the package is: ** Base salary: £40,000 per annum (guaranteed commission first 3 months making salary £50,000 pro rata for first 3 months) ** Holidays / leave: 25 days per year (plus bank holidays) ** Vehicle: Car allowance ** Vitality Health Insurance cover ** Death in service insurance cover £250,000. ** Share option after 2 years full service. ** Phone, laptop etc If this position isn't worth / you can’t achieve well north of £80,000 gross (before tax), then I'm sorry - you're not REALLY selling...
