PPC friends please be aware of a scam going round at the moment. I get this scam weekly and it's very convincing. The brand always contacts from a big-ish ecom abroad, and want someone to work on a UK representation. They have a lot of detail about the project and a large budget (clients never know what their budget is or have a brief, so this is crazy). They send you a presenter to watch which they say is a PDF, but actually comes through as a code file. I opened it on Mac so it did not automatically download -- they'll tell you you need to download it on Windows (not, oopsie, I dunno why I've saved this PDF as a .exe file silly me that's literally impossible). And it's just a way of installing malware onto your computer. So watch out please! It's a convincing scam especially if you're desperate for work. Worst of all, even if you don't download the file but pitch for the job that's a huge waste of time. If you dig deeper, the person contacting you wont have a LinkedIn, the URL will be similar to the original brands but fake.

When I started my journey with Amazon I also wanted to buy a Bantley. However doing business on Amazon is not that simple as it was sold on social media by course sellers. The reality is Selling on Amazon is a tiring process that needs your full time focus. You have to make sure you are sourcing the right quality. You have to tackle hundreds of issues with the listings before they go live. Amazon will take so much time to make your product available that you will begin to lose nerves. Then Amazon will categorize your product as some food item and will keep you suspended for days and you will keep shouting that it is an "electronic product" and not a sushi. Eventually Advertising will keep eating your margins until you are losing money on each sale. You begin to fear that you are not an expert and you end up hiring expensive agencies to do the same work just with a different structure. Lastly returns will break your business's back. Yes, Selling on Amazon is not a walk in the park It's a marathon run, it's as complicated as building a startup and it brings in stress as much as any founder faces in their business.

The second is scalable and predictable. Do the first 3 things if you want instant results. Do the last 3 things if you want a system.

Is your PPC delivering the insights you need to drive real business growth? 📈 Google ads accounts hold a significant amount of incredibly useful data. Insights so valuable to other teams inside the organisation that can help plan logistics, understand customer habits, discover potential demographic opportunities and much more. Unfortunately though, many teams (especially those stretched) don't have the time to glean or even share these results. And thus adopt a set and forget mentality. In the hope that Google & Microsoft's AI will kick in. 🤖 Leaving your competitors to pick up the pieces and leap ahead. 🧩 Are you familiar seeing a report which will contain Google clicks, impressions, conversions and maybe impression share, alongside some commentary? The opportunity is so much greater than this. This is not to say there aren't a ton of kick-ass PPCers out there. But time is the problem. ⌛ There's tools which will reduce manual tasks (think TrueClicks, Zapier and Creatify AI) so that your team, agency or freelancer can concentrate on the business growing things. Aside from your SQRs, KW research, ad copy development, PPC scripts, there's.. 👉 Audience personas 👉 Website speed 👉 Landing page design 👉 Creative assets and hooks 👉 Commerciality (PnLs, understanding margins, incrementally) 👉 Testing plans 👉 Promos & offers calendars 👉 Tracking Your PPC team should be involved in, interested in and providing insight for all of the above. As a minimum. (This isn't an exhaustive list) They can allow you to answer the following: How are top of funnel searchers interacting with the site? Is landing page X the best place to land visitors looking for Y? Has improving our site by 0.5 seconds at a cost of X proven profitable? How much of our extra PPC conversions were incremental? How does our Google audience differ to those visiting directly? Helping answer the above will ensure every penny is spent as best as it could be, whilst allowing other channels to thrive too. Your PPC activity probably holds a chunky share of your business' income. And as such holds a wealth of data, that deserves your attention. How much would it cost you to make £100k in new business? If your average order value (AOV) is £3k per month and you could sign them up for 12 months, then this is only 3 new customers... Pmax and Shopping can run side by side from the end of this month - My Google Shopping AM said the role-out is due to be completed at the end of October. But whilst all the PPC folk are announcing it with much pride that they read the news 📰 , others are going on about the doom and gloom about how this is going to inflate the auctions and be bad for us 📈 💡 But no one is speaking about the opportunities! 💡 Running different products in the same categories on different strategies? 💡 Running manual bidding (Yes, I said it! Not everything needs to be automated! 🤯) on some products and being confident that Pmax won't just boot them out of the way. The LinkedIn communities seem to love DOOM & GLOOM! 🌋 It's another tool in our box 🔧 Yes, it's most likely been done in Google's best interest, and yes, your account strategist is going to say best practice is to run everything on Pmax and also on Shopping with automated bidding. My favourite project in 2024: an audit to find savings over £250K in H2 🫰 This insurance business needed to make drastic savings on their PPC accounts, so hired us to audit the accounts and people running them 🕵‍♀️ They also needed to make efficiencies, and not lose any returns on the accounts in the process. 9 accounts, 3 agencies, plus an in house team were involved in the audit, it was a project managers dream! How We Surpassed Client KPIs set by over 370% 📈 We've been working with Connectus Utilities for just over 6 months, supporting with Google Ads and the results have been 🔥🔥🔥 Prior to coming on board with us, they'd not ran any PPC for their Connectus site before, so were entering unchartered territory. Fear not though as we were confident in what we could achieve! The first few weeks were very focused on understanding their customer profile and aligning that with a detailed Google Ads strategy. Once clear, we then built out the campaigns comprising of a mix between search and PMAX.
