"No easy answers". Some analysis from me using Ipsos UK data that I presented at #CPC24 this week. Key point: 1 in 4 2019 Con voters stayed at home in July and those that did vote split in several different directions. Those switching to Reform and Labour both talk of change. But the key issues are different. Reform voters prioritise immigration / asylum whereas those switching from Conservative to Labour prioritise the NHS and public services. How the new Tory leader messages their offer key. Reform voters key for the Conservatives but to only target them risks wandering up a political cul-de-sac. Having attended this excellent conference last month, arranged by FlexMR, I wanted to share the write-up from Research Live, as I think it does a good job of summarising some important take-outs from the day... In my work with client-side insight teams, I've seen first-hand how high a priority it is for insights to be communicated with impact, if they’re going to drive real change and have commercial value. The article highlights how insight leaders are now more focused than ever on storytelling and building strong relationships internally. I've always believed that great insights should be shared in a way that inspires and provokes and facilitates actions - otherwise it's value is indeterminable. Market research and insight agencies should be helping, in this regard. The most impactful and valuable work is created when suppliers and buyers work in alignment on this. #MRX #MarketResearch #MarketingResearch #insights

This is great. Because the proposition is somehow magical — it’s a complicated thing, with lots of words and concepts people don’t even want to hear. It makes our (my) heads hurt. But this is very simply said: connect knowledge, make it easy to access, and your business will be transformed. Because these are problems every client I’ve ever talked to has, but they never know how to solve. How do I connect these pipes? Whose problem is it? Where do I start? What if insights from different data sets disagree? Because the team responsible for solving these problems and delivering these solutions is plain awesome. Human, fun, experts. Data magicians who speak the same language as you and me and can crack a joke in between. This is fucking great. Can’t wait to work more with you Matthew and Tom!
