Interesting Public Sector case study on an ERP implementation: as many of us will have experienced over the years, the biggest risk with these type of enterprise application implementations is escalating third-party costs, but this commercial model takes away that risk, with no third-party system integrator and all supplier costs fixed for the full-term. #PublicSector #ERP

❗ Shocking statistics from the ONS via IT Now, the magazine from the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, reveal the concerning gender gap in the UK IT workforce. The number of female IT specialists has seen slow growth over the past 5 years: - 380,000 in 2022 (20%) - 356,000 in 2021 (20%) - 312,000 in 2020 (19%) - 249,000 in 2019 (17%) - 226,000 in 2018 (16%) Female representation in IT also varies by job type, from 1 in 20 IT engineers to 1 in 3 IT project or programme managers. While the recent trend predicts gender parity in 19 years, the longer trend (from 2005 to 2023) suggests it will take around 280 years.😲 These statistics underscore the urgent need for initiatives supporting women in tech. It's crucial for both men and women to work towards increasing female representation in the IT workforce without waiting decades. Let's take action now to create a more inclusive and diverse IT industry! #WomenInTech #GenderDiversity #ITIndustry

🔥 Do you have ambitions to become a CTO? 🔥 Are you wondering how to become a Fractional CTO? 🔥 Considering whether your business needs an Interim CTO? 🔥 Bored of all this Fractional CTO nonsense because they should be Perm? And while we're at it...what exactly is the difference between Fractional, Interim, Permanent and Contract when it comes to being a CTO? 🤷♀️ Maybe you have strong opinions on this or want to discuss it in a room full of your peers, maybe you're interested to get some red hot tips on how to start your journey to CTO in the next 12 - 18 months, maybe you just enjoy sauntering out of the office on a Monday for a PHENOMENAL catering situation and all round good vibes with other #TechLeaders from the UK. Either way, you're going to want to get yourself a ticket to the Manchester Tech Festival #LeadershipDay on Monday 4th November! Thanks to a collaboration between leading tech companies Equal Experts, Indiespring and Codacy, you'll enjoy spectacular speakers with outstanding topics in the prestigious penthouse suite at Hotel Voco on Portland Street with an exclusive drinks networking reception in the evening! (I would tell you the views are mint but lets be honest, it's November in Manchester, she's gonna be rainy ☔ ) Come along and listen to our very own Kanika Selvan hosting David Crawford for a fireside chat on the above topics and more! Ticket include a full day conference, breakfast pastries, refreshments throughout the day, a very excellent lunch buffet including hot and cold options (the food was top last year) and drinks afterwards and are priced at £36.00 Thanks to our amazing #CommunityTicket sponsors ESProfiler, anyone who is not in a position to purchase a ticket can receive a free ticket with no explanation needed (I don't care if you're a grad or a Director, your financial situation is absolutely none of my business and therefore you will not be asked to provide a reason if you choose Community Ticket) **Tickets are limited to two people per organisation to ensure maximum networking value, and unfortunately our PSL for Recruiters is now full.** https://lnkd.in/eBBgUWZa

#Governance, #enablement and #mentoring are key to finding solutions for #data challenges - Matt Wicks from The Virtual Forge says these challenges are often people problems rather than technology problems, with people having set up data in a way that makes it difficult to manage and share, compounded by a scarcity of available skills. It is important to build the in-house skills to do this over the long term but may need a jump start from outside - #KnowledgeTransfer though is key. He cites an interesting example with Haringey Council creating a #dynamic system for parking charges able to adjust pricing based on real-time factors such as location, the weather, emission levels of a car, local traffic and whether or not the vehicle owner was a resident. https://lnkd.in/eWVhyFsV

“We need a provocative speaker for our NHS Confederation comms team offsite in Leeds,” said Daniel Reynolds. “Can you come and wind us up?” We had a brilliant discussion about the opportunities and risks of AI in practice and the wider public sphere. I hope I met the brief. ✅ How the hype and noise that characterises much of the market in comms and PR is driven by vendors and is unhelpful. ✅ How AI can support management tasks such stakeholder planning and modelling, and tactical tasks such as creative and content. ✅ Why AI tools aren’t being adopted in agencies and comms teams even when rolled out across an organisation. ✅ Why AI is a cultural and risk issue for most organisations and not a technology issue - every organisation has the potential for a data or AI crisis. ✅ How the relationship perspective of an organisation helps comms assert its value and ultimately defend against the threat of AI. ✅ And finally… how to spot a post written by AI on LinkedIn 😜 NHS Confederation is leading the development of knowledge in this area and is supporting a listening exercise to understand the use of AI in a professional healthcare and wider NHS setting.

Following insightful remarks by Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP on the future of British healthcare, transformative shifts linked to government priorities have emerged. Key discussion points included: - Analogue to Digital - Sickness to Prevention - Hospital to Home The digital switchover, from analogue to digital, is crucial for enhancing healthcare services. While some councils lag in this transition, the London Borough of Sutton leads by example. Residents now benefit from advanced technology, enabling independent living with discreet monitoring for enhanced wellbeing. Shifting from sickness to prevention is vital for improving care models. Collaborations with key stakeholders have revolutionized care in Sutton, focusing on proactive measures. Proactive care initiatives, such as timely notifications, empower residents to live with greater freedom and dignity, preventing health issues from escalating. Access Technology Enabled Care plays a pivotal role in transforming care delivery. The Sutton case study provides valuable insights into innovative approaches that prioritize individualized care.
