Through the alliance, Amagi Corporation and Astro are set to modernise systems and infrastructure for the playout and origination of their existing linear channels and playout disaster recovery capabilities, as well as move them to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Speaking about the collaboration, Mauro Di Pietro Paolo, chief technology officer at Astro, said, “We've selected Amagi because of their proven track record of deploying playout systems on AWS and have demonstrated their ability to be a transformational platform," he further emphasised. D2X is a New Multicast Broadcast RAN Aligned with 5G NR for future Interworking https://lnkd.in/eUgyWWA2 D2X OFDM Frames are based on Resource Block (RB) of (24) Sub-carriers in Frequency and supports Bandwidths shown table below. The (24) is LCM of 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 the spacing frequency of the (5) scatter pilot patterns selectable. For the best spectrum Efficiency and Economics, a 24 MHz D2X Carrier shown table is shared by Broadcast Virtual Network Operators (BVNO). This could be comprised of (4) 6 MHz or (3) 8 MHz continuous broadcast carriers. With D2X Baseband CU/DU in Cloud and sent to Shared RU and antennas at transmitter / cell sites makes economics for operators attractive. A D2X 24 MHz UE will work on a global scale. Just as a 20MHz LTE UE was successfully deployed by MNO using (5, 10, 15, 20) MHz carriers. The graphic below shows 24 MHz D2X UE and support for reduce service capable IoT, Wearable with extended battery requirements. The D2X thesis is such a Multicast Broadcast RAN harmonized with 5G NR (MBS) with diverse Single Frequency Network Topologies D2X which could overlay and interwork offload 5G traffic or complement with converged services in future. D2X is designed using O-RAN cloud-native principles. The Terrestrial Broadcast RAN architecture has not changed in 75 years until emergence of O-RAN.

#SNData: Television production revenues in the UK fell by 8.4% to £3.61 billion ($4.7 billion) in 2023, compared to a record year in 2022, according to the latest Pact Census. This fall was driven largely by a decline in domestic commissions as well as a sharp decrease in linear broadcaster commissions from international markets.
